Question about Acer V193w LCD Monitor

1 Answer

I want to connect the audio cable that came with my Acer monitor, but neither of the two sockets on the back of the monitor are labeled. How do I tell which one is Audio In? One is blue and the other is black, if that makes a difference.

I only have one cable; it's the sockets that are different colors. Acer tech support hasn't given me an answer, either.

The audio cable is black. I finally just tried it in one of the sockets (the blue one), and that seems to have been the right one, as there is now sound coming out of the speakers.

Hi there, the blue cable is the one that sends the video from the computer to the monitor. And the black cable is the one that carries the audio to the monitor.

You hooked up the sound bar to the cable box red & white sockets, right. Now you have the soundbar hooked up to the TV red and white sockets. Did you notice any difference with the labeling on the two sets of sockets? The cable box sockets were labeled "Audio Out", but the TV sockets are labeled "Audio In"

AV signals are directional. Any socket labeled "Out" will give a signal from it for connecting to another device e.g. the connection from the cable box to the soundbar.

Any socket labeled "In" is designed to accept a signal from something else, but it won't give a signal out. So you can't connect the TV's Audio In socket to the soundbar's Audio In socket because both expect a signal from something else and neither supply a signal out.

Check the back of the Proscan TV. Is there a socket labeled Audio Out? If so, use that.

How do you hook up sound from surface rt to acer monitor 2014

To connect anything to the speakers on your acer monitor you need to use an audio patch cable that has 1/8 inch or mini headphone jacks on each end. Like this one.
5mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable...

You connect one end to the headphone jack on your Surface RT and the other to the audio in jack on the monitor. Make sure the power is on for the monitor and that the volume on both is a third or half way up and you should be able to hear the sound.
This is for the monitors user manual.

Follow the cable from the monitor to the acer computer case back. Where it connects to the back of the computer is a socket. This socket is at one end of the graphics card inside the case.

Can i connect my ipod to my sony hcd-nez7 through the audio in socket on the back

Any audio device that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except one labeled "PHONO"). Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2
and connect it into any available analog input on ANY audio device EXCEPT one labeled "Phono".

I have an Acer aspire m3200. I tried to connect it to my hdtv, i got picture but no sound using the VGA cord, and got nothing using the HDMI cord. Please help

Hello,
Using a vga cable to connect your laptop to a hdtv is very easy but the cable does not transfer the audio signal, you need another cable aswell. You need a 3.5mm jack to jack cable, one end plugs into your headphone socket on your laptop and the other end plugs into the pc audio socket at the back of your tv (usually next to where you plug in the vga plug).

Have you connected the Left speaker to the right speaker using the supplied cable? If not, connect the cable to the socket on the back of the right speaker labelled "to left speaker" and on the left speaker, to the socket labelled "from right speaker"
If this still doesn't solve the problem, try swapping the input cables (put the white plug in the red socket and vice versa) to see if this makes the left speaker produce sound, if it does, check the connection at the source to check the plug(s) are in all the way. If there is still no sound in the left speaker, unplug everything and do the following:
connect the left and right speakers with the supplied phono lead (Probably black) between sockets labelled "to left speaker" and "from right speaker"
then connect the source to any of the inputs on the back of the right speaker (ensure if using the red and white phono inputs that both are connected)
finally plug in power source.
Hope this helps

To listen to Tv program sound through your home theater system you will have to connect a pair of RCA to RCA cables (Red and White pair ) from the audio out socket of the TV ( some times three sockets Yellow/Red/White labeled Monitor out. Ignore the yellow as it is video out ) to the Aux or CBL/Sat input of the LG system. Then to listen to the sound through your LG HT system switch the Input selector of the LG to Aux or CBL/SAT. Will work for sure.

I hooked up a vx2433wm monitor to a dell computer, and I can't get the sound to work. Any thoughts?

this monitor has a separate audio in cable that must be connected on the green audio in socket at the back of your computer to the back of your monitor. this is usually a thinner cable as compared the the thick cable which goes to the video card for video.

USING MY BLU RAY THROUGH MY TV, HOW DO I TRANSFER THE SOUND?

the monitor cable (HD15) or DVI cable only transmit the picture.

To get sound you need to plug the audio output from your laptop into the audio input sockets right next to the video socket you are plugged into for the video feed (otherwise you will be plugging your sound into the wrong AV channel). Usually these are standard audio leads, similar to a dvd or camcorder composite cable, it may however be a 3.5mm audio lead, but the former is most likely.

Most laptops use a 3.5 mm headphone socket, so you will need an adapter to connect this to the audio cable, these can be picked up easily at maplins or dixons. after you are connected the sound should come through automatically, (remember to turn up the volume on your laptop)

hope this helps
