I have a new desktop pc but no sound is coming from either my speakers or headset

Go to start, control panel, sound and audio devices and make sure the speakers are not muted in the tabs. Also make sure your speaker output is connected to the correct output on your PC. Put in a CD and push play and then unplug your wire and try the other outputs on your sound card.

No audio, it has been like that from the on-set. wat can be done pls?

I guess you do not have the drivers on your PC. You need to download sound drivers on your PC. You can install them from the following link http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-AC-97-Audio-Driver-XP-W2K-W98-WDM-driver-VER-5-10-0-5554-zip/3000-2110_4-210198.html

The above link would work for OS Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/2003/NT

This should resolve your problem

I have a sound card in my p.c bu i don't know how i use it?

Hey Bro,

May be you do not have the drivers, this is why the sound is not working on your PC. Visit the website http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-AC-97-Audio-Driver-XP-W2K-W98-WDM-driver-VER-5-10-0-5554-zip/3000-2110_4-210198.html to download the drivers for your PC. This would work if you have the following Operating System Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP/2003/NT

I hope this would resolve your issue. Please grade my answer if it works out. Thank you!

I need to install sound drivers to my PC.How can I download it...?I have msi-7043 ver:100 motherboard. Can I search it using motherboard model or will I need to know about my sound card model?

Hi,

If you have a separate sound card installed you will need to go to the manufacturer's site for the driver. For Creative Labs sound cards go to:

Creative Labs Support

If you do not have a sound card you would then need to go to the MSI site for the driver. The MSI site is:

http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadindex

Thanks for using Fixya. If you need additional help, just Comment back.

REALTEK LOST MY WINDOWS SOUNDS

Hi,
Reinstall the newest Realtek drivers. These are the sound drivers for the sound card and you shouldn't have uninstalled them.

Alternatively, on rebooting the computer, you can press F8 and enter the BIOS and use the arrow buttons to navigate to the sound settings for the motherboard and change the motherboard sound output from PCI (sound card) to OS (onboard sound). This will mean you have to plug your speakers into the other set of audio holes inthe back of the computer and the sound will come straight from the motherboard.
Most people prefer to use the sound card though, as it is far superior, especially when using the latest Realtek or Creative drivers installed. (don't you use a creative driver... you have a RealTek card!)
So reinstall the Realtek Hd Audio driver and don't mess with it anymore :)

Good Luck!

Chris (ziraffa)

PS Did you try playing a song and trying the different audio ports on your computer? Or checking the Volume Control to check that nothing is muted or turned down?

Sound card not working ( no sound output ) mother board intel 810E

Hi,

Go to Settings, Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices, check "Place volume icon in the taskbar." In your Device Manager, pls verify that the drivers for your sound card are completely and correctly installed with no yellow or red markings. Likewise, verify that in your CMOS/BIOS settings, the onboard audio has been enabled. The sound driver/installer for an Intel CA810E has the filename 4035full.exe and uses a DOS component.

Should this not work, you might not have an Intel motherboard but one that just uses the Intel 810E chipset. Please post back with a more specific motherboard brand and model.

While it is true that the 810E chipset is by Intel, it does not necessarily mean that the motherboard entirely is by Intel. It could be by Asus, MSI, PCChips, ECS, Soltek or others. The sound therefore need not be the same for all versions of motherboards using the said chipset.

The Intel mb that uses this chipset carries the model CA810E or CA810 which uses Creative Sound Blaster* AudioPCI 128V audio solution or Crystal Semiconductor CS4297 AC '97 stereo audio codec;

The Asus CUWE-FX/RM, FlexATX or i810E uses the same Intel 810E chipset but different sound. Asus can and may use CMI, Crystal, Creative, ESS.

An ECS BKi810E(V7.3) uses the same Intel chipset but C-Media 8738 for sound.

An MSI MS-6188 uses the same chipset. It may have used an Avance-Realtek AC97 for sound.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back to confirm that you have an Intel CA810 version or by some other motherboard manufacturer.

Good luck and kind regards.
