Question about Canon S520 InkJet Printer

Not printing i can not get it to print i cannot get a very good test page will not print text

    thank you for that i did have a look all is good i think it got something to do with my settings on my computer you think i got it to do a test page but some of it was smudged i am reading through the manuel hopefully that will help if you have any more suggestions please feel free to -post them i dont no much abouut computers they have been given to me so i am learning a s i go

Make sure your ink carts are in the right way...believe it or not ive made the same mistake and also make sure the color carts are in the right place!!!!

SOURCE: Printing black

Sounds very science fiction. The easiest thing to do is to uninstall the printer(+drivers), and reinstall. Or at least it's the easiest thing for me to think of ... ;] Do you get this only with text, or also with images?

try to heat up the printhead of the cartridge on hot water about 90degre celsius and clean the head whit a clean soft paper (toilet paper is great and cheap) and make a clean nozle on the printer software.

SOURCE: Canon i560 won't print black text anymore

I had the same problem, even when I only selected grayscale printing, my printer would use all 3 colors to make black, and my black cartridge would never get used. Try this:
On printing preferences change your Media Type to Transparency.
This should solve the problem and stop robbing your color tanks when you just want black

adjust print heads... in the printer attributes by right clicking the printer the attributes should show a tool window the do this

then check if you have ink...

also check to see if you have your print set to a heaver weight paper. this could make the paper move while its printing

Not printing full text on page

It sounds like you are trying to print from frames. If in doubt the simple test is try printing the windows self test page. If that prints OK then your cartridges are OK. If you sre trying to print from an internet browser - download the page first and then print it or see if there is a "printer friendly bar"

My 5510 will do a good test page but when I want to print out something else ,it goes into very slow mode

Dear user,

the speed depends on what you are printing , slowest will for color pictures, also black and white picture will take time followed by text page, the test page usually has just few stuff to be printed hence it appears to be printed too fast.

Pages print with a line thru all the text. They aren't underlines, but have an actual line printed over the text. How do I change this?


It's called overstrike.

Try send a print out from another application. If result is same, then print a self test page. Still the same, then replace cartridge.

Otherwise, head needs service/replacement.

However, if self test print out look good then you should check printer preferences.

All of a sudden it will not print but as soon as u turn the printer on it prints like a test page

may be you chaged the catridge.
It is not the test page it is alignment test page just put the printed alignment test page paper on scanner glass and press the scan button to complete the process. It is alignment process which is printer is doing for self testing after installing new cartridge. Just finish the process.

I have a HP Deskjet 1300n printer. I can print my email, pictures and items off the internet, but cannot print any word documents or notepad documents. When I print an excel document, I get an incomplete page-the grid lines will print,and text garbage from a adobe program but not all the text. When I do a test print page, I get an incomplete text page, but do not know how to solve this. I have removed and reloaded the printer software-no improvement. There are no new drivers to be installed.

Stripes on Images only - Text OK

Perhaps the CMY color heads need alignment. If you have not already done so, run a head alignment from the driver maintenance section. It will print out a page containing several lines and text, and request you select the closest-aligned images. After this is done, do another image print to check for improvements.
Normally, the printer uses the black cartridge for text and the CMY inks for images (even for black on photo and specialty paper). So when you are printing normal text pages on plain paper, only the black ink is used. A good check for this would be to print a normal text page, but select photo paper in the driver to trick the printer into using the CMY inks to make a substitute black text page. If this looks ok, then you are having issues other than cartridge alignment.

Problems with Color printing

Click Start - All programs - HP - HP Solution center.

Click Settings - Print settings - Printer settings

Click on the Features tab. Set the print quality to best. Click on the Colors tab. Under color management - Enable the option Managed by Application. Click OK . close solution center. Try to print.
