Question about TruTech PLV16190 Television

1 Answer

We hardly use our TV, but a couple of days ago when I tried to change the channel, the channels started changing by themselves; like it was possesed. I tried using it again a few days later, and it will not change to another channel but the one it is currently on; not by remote or manually. How do we fix this?

Old tv buttons got wet

The tv buttons are actually small "tact" switches which are contaminated with the vinegar and shorting themselves. Unfortunately replacing these is your only option. You may get lucky to just turn if off and let air dry for a few days.

I have had a Sharp AQUOS LC-46PD7X for over three years and just a couple of days ago I started getting a problem where I turn the TV on and it either displays a digital channel for a couple of minutes and...

Hi ibrahl,

I too have the same model and vintage and have been experiencing low signal problems for quiet some time now. It only became apparent when we hooked up the ps3 playTV unit and the digital channels we were having problems with on the Aquos was broadcasting fine. Both devices use the same antenna connection so its not an aerial issue.
I tried reset back to factory settings and reloaded the channels via auto but now those digital channels I had problems no longer appear on our channel list so they're gone for now. I was wondering the same thing about firmware updates but havent found anything on the Sharp website. Found this video but this model uses USB for updates">

TV gets stuck on channel, won't advance past channel 7.1

Try doing the Channel Search again. See if that helps.

If not, sounds like the Digital Board could be defective. Since this TV is brand new suggest calling your local sharp authorized service center to replace that board under warranty.

One channel fuzzy

Tis is an ongoing problem I seen increase alot over the past few months. From what I can gather, all the channels being broadcast over going from the analog to digital, there's no big suprise to anyone. However, the change from analog to digital is changing at a faster rate, so when you look at the TV some channels will be fine and others will have grey lines, fuzzy picture. The only solution-you need a TV with some kind of digital tuner. On the TV itself if the (TV has one) it will say "SD" or "ED" which stands for standard digital or enhanced digital.

Ghost in the channel selector

the problems due to the microprocessor on the remote reciever present inside the tv .i think the remote is normal working. as the only problem with your iinfra red reciever microprocessor.microcontroler circuit. Replace the IC to solve this. Check electrolytic capacitor coupled to the memory block of the micro processor. Contact service if you are not well verse doing all this rectification works. it is off high risk and caution
thank you !
