turn on and it goes off immediately, manually and by remote, started as just sound no picture , now it just shuts off as soon as you turn on

Mine is exactly 2 years old this month and it just recently starting shutting itself off and when I try to turn it back on it shuts off again. This continues for several minutes. Then after about 15 to 20 minutes, it will come back on. When this first started, it would stay on for several hours but now it seems like it stays on for less than an hours. Timers are all off and sleep mode is off. What could be causing this and how can it be fixed.

Just started turning its self off. some times stays on for a few minutes and then immediately turns it's self off. What is the solution to this problem??

My vt is doing the same thing but worse. It turns itself on and off, and all the buttons have switched places. The menue button turns the tv on and chan+ and vol+ at the same time is the only way I can watch the thing without the channels changeing. And the remote is not even recignized by the tv. I havn't even used the tv much in the one year I have owned it...I would rather throw it out then fix it!!!

My TruFlat turns off at random points also. I can't believe I was sold such a piece of **** that broke down after two years and they won't replace it. Needless to say I'm never buying RCA again!

I have just finished putting my 20" tru flat back together. it now only works with the remote, not the buttons, nor does the dvd player.it stays on without cutting off and does not change the mode anymore.the problem was with the circuit board that controls the functions of the tv.i disconnected the IR wire from the board(it is the fifth wire on the plug towards the inside of the tvon the ribbon cable).do not do this unless you are familiar with electrical components

How do i hook-up my vcr to my cable dvr to record saved shows

Hi,
In order to record from VCR to DVR You need to connect "VCR audio/video output RCA jacks " to" DVR 's Audio / Video Input RCA jacks.. ..
use either "RCA analog (red/white+ yellow ) " or "optic " cable.(any standard optical cable )..if exist .optic is the best way to connect it..Remember your VCR 's "OUT" goes into" IN "of DVR ..
pls also remember, wherever you connect your VCR on your DVR ,you should switch the source selector accordingly to correspond to the connection on the back...
Now you can record anything on DVR which played in VCR ..
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know.
Take care and please

Hi my rca truflat 20 inch tv stays on for about 30 mins then displays an analog clock and turns off

Your sleep timer is on. Hit menu, and poke through that and find the sleep timer settings. Sleep timer is something that turns the TV off after an amount of time that your do not interact with it.

I have an RCA Truflat that began turning itself off today. Sometimes it will last 20 minutes, sometimes a few seconds. I'm broke..no way can I get it repaired..any ideas as to what's going on?

possible cold solder joint(loose connection). try the old method of picking it up and slightly moving it. hit it. if it seems to affect operation, just simple soldering on power supply and deflection will fix it. 50/50 chance

Need diagram to connect Motorola DVR, Panasonic DMR-E recorder, A/V Receiver, and HDTV

Your not going to be able to connect in series (not sure if thats your goal) since your limited by the type of connections you can use. Your receiver is going to have to be switched depeneding on what source you want to listen too. DVR, DVD, etc. HDMI is going to important for your TV connection. Radio Shack has cheap HDMI cables.
So... connect HDMI from DVR to HDTV this will give you sound and picture to TV. Connect DVR optical or coaxial ( RCA if you dont care about surround) to Receiver to give you DVR sound thru Receiver input.
Connect DVD to receiver via optical/coaxial/rca for DVD sound thru receiver (again RCA is not recommended for surround).
Connect Component video to HDTV(or HDMI if TV has second HDMI input) to give you video from DVD.
Connect Yellow video or S-video from DVR to DVD recorder input to allow recording from DVR. Also connect red/white audio to (same) DVD input.
That should cover it.
