Question about Acer Aspire L310 (ASL310UD631A) PC Desktop

The ACER tour program wont go away & covers the screen no matter what!

I installed this computer today, had to restore it to a previous date to get it running, and finally got it set up and internet ready.

Now the ACER tour program prepares to download, but keeps running it's light blue box in the middle of the screen! I can run all other programs (& internet), but I have this tour program screen blocking practically the whole moniter!

When I run task manager and close the program, it still stays, and the mouse stays in the "I'm busy - hold on!" animation on that screen (which means I can't move it).

Can someone please help??

I tried, but the start up screen freezes up once I hit remove or disable. And this big blue box covers most of the screen in the center, so if there's a a small dialog box behind it, I can't see it or move it around the edges. I did a screen shot and emailed it to this computer in my office in case it helps.

I'm going to keep trying to disable the program in the start up. Thank you for the tip, I'm sure if I can get it to stop freezing I can get this program to shut down.

When I first started this computer (which by the way is used not new) It said I needed to change the resolution, so I changed it to 1024x780. Otherwise I could only start in safe mode. It does not come up, in safe mode but I couldn't connect to the internet.

Maybe I should put it back in safe mode and see if I can go to the startup programs in there.....do u think that will work?

(ps thanks soooo much for your help!)

Press CTRL+ALT+Delete.

If you're using Windows Vista this will bring you to a new prompt screen asking you what you wish to do. Select 'Task Manager'.
You will be returned to the Desktop and the Task Manager will open up on the screen.

Click on the 'Processes' tab on the window, and search through the list until you find something along the lines of... AcerTour.exe

Click on this process to highlight it, and press the 'End Process'
button. (This should immediately close the running process)

Im not sure if that would work for sure but also try to go into services tab msconfig, service tab. I will continue to search out a resolution for your problem.

Well... yes, I had that problem but I un-installed the tour because it wouldn't run, ever, got stuck, finally it quit appearing! It seems to be one of those tutorials, but it looks also like more up-sales on more and more software. Sometimes more isn't better, it's just more....

So, I google it, and because something in my C drive is always tasking, eats up memory and adds to the start up task as well as shut down time. An article I found called "Zapping the ****" is the first to explain this Vista phenomena, so read this to help you to decide. Hear an expert.

I hope the links works but I would google acer tour, and of course you can always reload the acer tour online if you think your missing something

Outlook is the default email program.have you tried to configure your emails to go through outlook?you can clear all emails accounts in outlook if you have no need to use outlook to prevent the pop up screen from annoying you.i assume you do have system restore running ...in which case choose a restore date from an earlier time than when the problem started and it should successfully restore settings to work around the issue.acer systems have their own restore capability which you must be careful not to activate or you will lose all your personal files as everything reverts back to factory install.i don't know which operating system you are on so any further advice is limited.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? You can do this by pressing/tapping the 'F8' key after the bios screen (Acer Screen) comes up. If it does you boot correctly then, you can try to restore the system to an earlier date using System Restore. That's located in the start menu/windows orb at All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore

My internet wont work anymore because i downloaded an update ( Windows home premium) on my acer x1200 I want to wipe / recover my computer to its original facttory settings but ive tried everything. I dont...

Click: Start
Click: All Programs
Click: Accessories
Click: System Tools
Click: System Restore

Pick a "restore-point" that was taken _before_ the update was applied,
and restore your system to that previous date/time.

OR ....

Look under "All Programs" for a utility that will help you burn CD/DVD(s) to create a "Recovery Disk" set. Burn more CD/DVD(s) with all your "data" files (or copy all your data-files to an external hard-drive). Then, boot from the "Recovery Disk", to begin the process of restoring the "factory" settings.

Just bought an acer aspire ax1200-b1581a.it worked fine for a few days now it will pop up there was a problem with the internet and shut the itnernet down,it started out going blue screen and at the bottom...

I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.

Dear reader; I bought hunting unlimited 2008, its been playing fine, today I went to play it and I can't seem to get it playing

You may restore you system to a previous date. Choose the date when it was working fine. Just go back a day or 2.

Steps
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System restore>Restore to Earlier date.

When you restore to a particular date. the softwares loaded after that particular date wont be there. So be careful and dont go too far back.

Hope this will help

Regards
