LG BD350C Bluray Player won't read 1gb MKV files from USB stick

I live in Canada and have just purchased this model of LG Bluray player, is there a firmware upgrade that will allow it to play mkv files ?

I have read a lot of threads about this and people say it will play them and others say it won't. It should play them from the USB port but mine won't even read them on the stick.

So will it play them or not? Does the stick need to be formatted to Fat32 or NTFS

Any ideas?

Your USB device needs to be Fat16 or Fat32 but as for reading mkv files I have the same issue. Not to mention it playing divx files in a choppy fashion.

Firmware update for LG bp125 gone bad

I ran into issues updating my BP125 to the LG_BD_7300M51.ROM firmware with a USB drive but was able to work around them. I think they occur because the BP125 expects the firmware to be in the upg_all subdirectory during part of the update. To successfully update, it needs to be in upg_all on the USB drive. If you update with LG_BD_7300M51.ROM firmware file in the root directory, the Bluray drive won't complete booting but a workaround can restore the Bluray drive. Here are the steps I took:

First, I tried to update with the LG_BD_7300M51.ROM file in the root directory on a USB drive. The update found the firmware, started the update, then powered off. I powered the Bluray player back on, and it said the update had failed and gave me an option to update using USB or Network. Neither worked with the LG_BD_7300M51.ROM file.

Second, I downloaded the BP120 LG_BD_7200M51.ROM firmware file, renamed it to LG_BD_7300M51.ROM, and put it in the root directory. The Bluray player found the firmware file, and I updated to it. That put the BP120 firmware on the BP125.

To update to the BP125 firmware, I renamed the LG_BD_7300M51.ROM file to LG_BD_7200M51.ROM and put it in the upg_all directory on the USB drive. The Bluray player then saw the update. I applied it successfully to get to the latest BP125 firmware.

Hi i have LG 42pg20 plasma tv , it have divx built in but it cannot able to play mkv file format , but avi or mpeg play , how can i upgrade divx software in tv to divx plus . divx plus can play mkv...

you can't and DIVX is an AVI format. MKV is an entirely different encoding format. There are no TVs or DVD players that support MKV. Also you will not get a DVD player that will paly BlueRay. DVD and BluRay require 2 different lasers on the drive to read the format so your software will not allow for this through a USB or hdmi either. You have what you have and there is nothing you can do aside from using the PC the movies were pirated from and connect it to the TV.

How do I update player for model BD350C LG Blue Ray Player

All Blu-Ray players need to be updated from time to time because of the growing technology of Blu-Ray. Your model of BD player does not have a way to directly connect to the internet. What you will need to have is a computer with internet. A blank CD to copy the new update or a USB drive.
The easiest way to do this is with a USB Drive.
1) Fist thing to do is go to this web page
http://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=BD350&initialTab=warranty&targetPage=support-product-profile#

2)Download the update (This is the file that will go on the USB drive or CD)
Once you have this file download you will need some help with pictures given by LG. Download this file
BD350_Update_Guide.pdf (will be right about the LG zip file you just downloaded) follow these institutions given by LG.

Hopefully this will help. Good Luck :)

Dont know how to up-date my bd350c blu-ray

The firmware is available at this link http://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=BD350&initialTab=warranty&targetPage=support-product-profile#

It isn't clear but try downloading the second one from the bottom to your computer's desktop. Then unzip it to a disc. Put the disc in the player and it should start to update.

If you have to do this with a usb device then unzip the file from your desktop to your usb device. When you insert it into the bluray player it should detect it automatically and guide you.

I recommend calling LG to find out which file to download to your desktop and whether to use a disc or usb device because the manual does not clarify any of this and there are no dates next to the firmware versions.

I can't play alvatar on my sharp hp210u blue ray player

The update file can be found here http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx

Select bluray disc players
model not listed
type in model number
Then click on search
Click on the instructions and read thme if you need to. If you do not need to read the instructions click on the firmware and save it to your desktop. After the download has completed open the folder and click on extract all files under folder tasks, which should be on the left of the window nearer to the top.

At this time insert a 1, 2 or 4 GB flash drive into your computer. Then in the window click on next if you need to or browse and then my computer and then the icon of the usb device itself. Click on extract or next. When it is done safely remove the usb device from your computer by clicking on safely remove hardware located near the time on the bottom right hand side of the computer monitor.
Click on the usb device and click on stop. Remove it from the computer and place it in the back of the bluray player. Turn the tv and bluray player on as if you were going to view a bluray. There shouldn't be any discs inside. Press the setup button on the bluray remote control. Choose settings. Choose software update. Begin the update. After it is completed turn off the bluray player before removing the usb device.

If the usb device needs to be reformatted or if the zip file folder is placed on the usb device instead of the extracted file the download will not be successful.
