Sounds like the starter motor is jammed or shorting get someone to turn the ignition to start and at same time hit starter motor, if this does not work, put vehicle in gear and rock back and forth, this hopefully will release a stuck starter, if it is auto you obviusly cant do that, you can try attatching wires directly from your battery to the starter motor ie live to the red connector earth anywhere on the starter(not on the live terminal) and see how that works...hope that helps

Gave a jump start and now headlights don't work on a 2005 yukon denali

sound like battery has weak or battery terminals and post need cleaning. have battery charged and checked, if battery good. alternator not charging battery. if battery over 5 years old more likely battery is bad.if battery too weak head lights wont turn on battery dead this time of year if battery old. cold weather will finish it out.

try jumping if it jumps or you get power from a jump its your battery it can die over night this is common runs good one day then will not do it the next i would start there first if it turns over after a jump that is your problem.Replace the battery most batteries only last up to 18months

I won't say its an alternator problem because the alternator only charges the battery when its on, And it should start with the jump cables even if the battery and the alternator are bad. your Issue is not clear. Does the car start when you jump it ?

Just because your accs. function does not mean the battery is ok The first thing to check is the battery, there could be dead cells in the battery your starter need maximum voltage if a cell is dead the battery generally will not turn the engine over check that battery

Will not start

Service light can be due to misfiring in one cylinder, discharged battery, or faulty O2 sensor. Start from battery (you can try jump start) to distributor cap/wiring/spurk plugs/alternator. Also check fuel lines (fuel injectrors, filter, pump). If no help check O2 sensor and coolant temperature sensor.
