Samsung NP-R50 laptop lcd screen connector come unplugged. how do I get to socket to re-connect it?

I had to replace the USB Card after soldering a new Power Jack onto it. In opening the case to replace it (which I have done) I noticed a small cream coloured connector had become detached on the opposite side to the jack socket, inside the case. It's rectangular in section .. about 12mm x 2.5 mm on a tight ribbon. I can see the pins it has to connect to BUT there is very little hand room to get hold of it to make the connection (the casework needs to be nearly shut to effect a connection. Have no service manual so can't see how to do this. Can you help?

You maybe able to provide a holding tab on the video cable just above the connector by placing sticky tape around the cable with sufficient overlap to form a holding tab.
To give more room/access to the connector you may be able to remove the keyboard and the panel between the keyboard and the screen, or remove the plastic case around the keyboard.

You need "New Miracle Cure Wiper Cloth".

One wipe across you LCD screen, and it will look like,............well......................................a Hershey bar rubbed across it.

Check to see if you pulled the Video Cable loose, or damaged it.
Past this point replace the LCD screen.

Samsung NP-R480L laptop not charging. Possible DC-in

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Laptop ibm t60 screen white, but works fine with external lcd screen connected by VGA cable

Check your laptop's LCD connections. One of the below items may need replacement or you may need to just reinsert them, might be loose.

- LCD cable
- LCD inverter
- LCD itself

NOTE: Most often, the LCD inverter is the culprit.

Hope this helps.

My NC10 has a crack in the in screen and has destroyed more then half the screen... Can this be fixd? Or is itcheaper to get a new lap top??

My viewpoint is that it's worth repairing,.....that is if YOU do it.

A couple of places from a quick search, that carry the LCD screen for Samsung NC10 series laptops,

This site has the Service Manual for the Samsung NC10 series of laptops, (Free),

Click on the blue NC10.

[This is a PDF file. The computer you are on now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
Allow up to 30 seconds for the file to download)

Replacing the LCD screen is a fairly straightforward affair.
Remove ALL power to the netbook. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.
Follow the Service Manual.

My monitor doesnot run

Try an external monitor to verify if the laptop is working just fine.
If you get a clear picture on the external monitor, see if the laptop LCD is dim, or has no image at all.
If dim, you will need to replace the backlight or inverter.
If there is no image at all on the LCD, see if there's a small microswitch at the base of the LCD, this microswitch turns of the LCD assembly when the lid is closed. Usually these microswitches can easily get stuck due to dust and dew. You'll have to wigle it out with a toothpick or similar pointy object.
If there is no microswitch, perhaps it may be that the LCD cable is loose and is out of its socket, and you'll need to open up the laptop and re-seat a long (about an inch) rectangular-shaped connector leading from the motherboard into the LCD assembly.

You could have a defective LCD screen, If the laptop appears to be running and the hard disk is spinning but the screen is dark then, to determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
