Hi there,

Well all the self-defrosting refrigerators dispose of the water generated during the defrost cycle, usually via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates. If the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment. Then the water builds up at the bottom, inside of the refrigerator. When the water has built up for a time it may spill out of the front of the door opening. To fix this problem, clear the drain tube or channel and allow the defrost water to flow down to the drain pan. Please post comments if further you have the same problem.........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

The drain is located either on the floor of the refrigerator, beneath the vegetable crisper, or in the wall behind a drain funnel. Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into it with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of .25 inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog.

    Good Luck!!

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

Water driping inside from ice maker

If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.

If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

Water is dripping inside the refrigerator from one of the holes in the top in the area back from the light

The drain is plugged and in defrost the water has to go somewhere. Try to blow out the drain with air. Or you might have to remove the evaporator cover to get hot water down the drain. First try to clear the line.

LG Refrigerator

  • the drain line in the freezer may be clogged forcing water to drip into the freezer. clean out the freezer and pour some hot water in the back of the freezer to unclog the drain.
  • another cause of this would be if the door is not sealing properly then the inside of the refrigerator will build up condensation.
