Re: orange light blinking and wont start
Orange blinking light is an indication of either a mismatched memory condition, or perhaps an onboard chip failure. When you clean the memory, using a cloth, will impart ESD(ElectroStatic Discharge) into the memory, and soften or kill it. Using an insulated standard wooden pencil, is acceptable, but only if you are grounded to the chassis, or earth ground. That is a good way to Fry your memory sticks.

The list is given below.
No Beeps Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals One Beep Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine Two Beeps POST/CMOS Error One Long Beep, One Short Beep Motherboard Problem One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps Video Problem One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps Video Problem Three Long Beeps Keyboard Error Repeated Long Beeps Memory Error Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps CPU Overheating
A blinking yellow light means that there is something wrong with the motherboard, if not the motherboard itself it will be either the RAM, wiring connections, bad processor or it may need a fresh coat of thermal paste on the processor itself. With Dells, its pretty easy to find out. Start the pc and You will hear some beeps count the beeps. ex:beep.beep...beep.beep which gives You a code this one being 22. Once You get the code go to Dell support and look up service code and it will tell You what the problem is. Good Luck.
these servers are single power supply when that goes you only get a blinking orange light and no beeps.
most other issues will beep code.
I would start there. you can remove and reinstall. but it is probably bad
hope this helps
Three major components usually is causing this kind of problem. One is the memory card. Two the video card . and lastly worst is the motherboard. Check and clean your memory card first then put it back to its place of slot. Start your computer. If you hear one beep but still no pictures, the problem lies in your video card. If there's still no beep sound and picture, and you think your memory card is good, try to clean your video card, then start your computer. If there is still no picture, and you think your video card is good, then you have a problem with your motherboard. Indication that your cpu is working were, beeping sounds, lead lights blinking or changing sequence is present. If it is present, your monitor has a defect an needs to be replaced. But if none of this is present, we have a motherboard problem.
dell only knows 2 colors blue and orange... if you have no light on the mother board when power is plugged in. then your power supply is probably gone. considering you didn't mention beeps I would say thats it.
First open cpu cabinet then pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes. Refix RAM memory. Reattch ATX power connector to motherbord. Reattch power cable and SATA or ide cable to harddisk. Clean dust from all parts of motherbord. Open processor fan and processor. Then reattch both. Make sure motherbord is not ground with cabinet. When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key then enter in bios . Make sure in bios your harddisk is detected. If not then change SATA or IDE cable of harddisk. Then check .Go to boot menu nof bios then set first boot device as your harddisk. Then save settings and exit. Let me know if you need further assistance.Thanks.
If you turn on the computer and it will beep once and the red light blinks means the computer is starting will.. but if the computer beep once and the red light blinks once means there are something missing or something bothering the computer.. try this Check the connection cable of your computer, the power source, the hardware interface, and if you installed a new hardware, try taking that hardware out and turn on again the computer. if the problem still exist try to disassemble and assemble the hardware of the computer. You must have someone with you know how to assemble and disassemble the computer hardware for safety method TY.
A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Power supply is easier and cheaper to replace. Your responses are intended to improve the level of service provided.
