Have you replaced or cleaned the ignitor?
Can you see it trying to light?

Thanks

All Pro Kerosene SPC-K50 runs intermittenly

This type of heater can be temperamental because they are often stored for long periods in unsuitable conditions, aren't serviced very often and the remnants of fuel are left inside the tank during storage.

Kerosene has a fairly high natural water content, the tank is vented and normal air pressure changes will allow further moisture and dirt to enter the heater.

Good heater operation depends on very clean and uncontaminated fuel. Tiny dirt particles and contaminants can corrode, wear or jam the spinning spray head.

I suggest you service the heater - a thorough internal clean of the fuel system, clean the filter(s) and spray head, check and if necessary adjust the air pump regulator pressure and ensure the spark plug is clean, in good condition, is correctly gapped and the spark is constant and steady.

Your heater should then be ready for the coming winter season at the end of which, perhaps different summer storage arrangements would be advisable.

I hava an All Pro 65,000 BTU heater. It was working fine a week ago. The igniter glows, fuel mists but doesn't light off then shuts down. Ideas?

I am sure you have confirmed that the fuel is fresh and good, no water in it, etc.--
It is kerosene, not #2 Diesel fuel, right?

And the shutting down is good, if the flame does NOT ignite--- :-)
So we have to figure out why the fuel is not getting hot enough to ignite?

Question-- is the oil spray passing close enough to the ignitor?
And this unit does NOT use SPARK to ignite?, correct? --
for most of these heaters have spark ignition.. I am learning all the time, too!

How about checking the fuel pressure. and the air -- is it correct?
Check with your manual how to check and adjust.

After testing these tings, let us know what you learned

All pro heater turns on but won't light and shuts off after about 15 seconds

It's supposed to shut off if it doesn't light off. Take the top off, and while staying away from the fan turn unit on and observe if there is fuel coming from the nozzle and spark at the ignitor. No fuel could be a plugged filter in the pick up tube. Unscrew the nut on the line coming from the fuel tank, the filter is in the top of the line. There is also a filter on the back of the nozzle accessed by removing nozzle and unscrewing it from the fuel tube. if there is a good fuel spray, but no spark, probably the high voltage transformer is bad. Most heater brands use the same transformer so take the old one with you to a heater dealer and have it checked/replaced.

All Pro K75 will not ignite. Spark igniter does

most kerosene heaters are basically the same - reddy heat, dynaglow, desatech are all the same. there's a small air compressor built into the axially mounted fan that points forward. the air pressure needed for fuel is 3-5 psi not less, not more! the air feeds through a side inlet to the fuel nozzle where it creates a vacuum venturi to **** fuel from the tank and propels it through a fan nozzle. the aerrated fuel hits the hot surface or spark and ignites. as long as there is heat and air the heater should function.

Pro 110, runs 10 min., blows white smoke ,shuts off

the first thing you need to do is go back to useing K1 kerosene, diesel fuel not only burns dirty but also has a tendency to gel up in cold weather which could be makeing it hard for the heater to draw the proper amount of fuel. To reset the pressure you will need a gage, it should run at about 6-7 psi. you can order a pressure gage from mr. heater online, they are by far the cheapest I have found as they are the actual manufacturer or call 1-800-251-0001

clean all of your filters and the spark plug and go back to useing K1 kerosene. Diesel fuel has a higher ignition temp. burns dirty and has a tendency to gel.

  1. clean the fuel filter
  2. clean the nozzle
  3. set the air pump pressure.
It should fire off, unless you have developed an air leak, worn nozzle, bad fan, or a motor that is not turning rpm's.

most parts for kero heaters are interchangable. go to desatech dot com for parts. check for a reset button for your heater. if no reset, does the fan run? your unit can use one of two ignition parts. a spark generator with a spark plug or a hot surface igniter. the unit uses a cad cell flame detector. you might need to replace this.
