Question about DeLonghi DCH4120 SafeHeat Ceramic Compact Heater

1 Answer

Temp doesn't shut down when preset temp reached. Have to do it myself. Set it for 62 for example, won't come on till I set it to maybe 70. Try to set the temp to maybe 65, doesn't shut down till we manually set it to maybe 60. Temp setting not very accurate. Anything I can do?

This is normal. It will only turn on when the temperature set is below the ambient temperature in the area around the thermostat.

Your problem may be the location of the thermostat is not ideal form the areas you are heating. this usually cause the temperature in areas vary from the thermostat to the point wher relocation of the thermostat is sometimes the best resolution.
this is often the case wher ther are multiple heating zines in a building, and one or more zones interfere with the thermostat of others,

but it also happen in single zone heating systems too.

Thermostat does not reach programmed temperature

Have you checked with a thermometer to see if the area is reaching the temp you have it set at? A thermostat has nothing to do with the temp in your house. If you have it set at a temp for Example ( 72 ) and it is not reaching that temp to shut off then you have a problem with your unit or insulation in house. If you set stat on cool at 72 and the house gets down lower than 72 then there is a problem with stat.

Furnance will not start until room temp is at least 5 degrees below set temp ie temp set at 70 , wont start till it reaches 66 or 65 degrees

themostat is bad, or the heat anticipator on the stat is bad, which means you still need a new stat

My ge Model # ASM10AKS a/c intermittently seems to be blowing smoke condensation or gas into through the house vents. I looked through the problems and solutions and did not find this problem. What is it?

Try setting the ac to a higher temp setting. Idealy above 70 degrees. I set mine a 75. If it does that at higher temp setting then maybe it is caused by the ambient condition. For example in the morning because the air is cold but humidity is high. Check if the compressor cuts off when it reaches cut off temp. Also check to see if ice is building up on the evaporator.

My ac will not stay on when its at a certain temperture or auto. only if its in on position

this is correct because if you set it to certin temp. when it reaches that temp. it will shut down to prevent over cooling when the temp in the room goes up a preset amount 2-5 deg.(preset by manafatuer) the unit should go back on to drop the temp. to your set temp. Auto works the same way, where just on will cool to the temp the system can cool efficently.

Tried resetting the thermostat. Shows 70 degrees for a second. Then back to 78.5 degrees. When I use the arrow adjust to change settings the number does not change

Depends on your Tstat. The set point is different from room temp. My tsat show set point and room temp. But to answer you when you set at 72 and room temp is 75 . It will go back to room temp till you reach that temp. Rusty
