At the bottem of your laptop there should be panels that are held in by 1 small screw, your hard drive should be in the largest of them not the battery panel, unscrew the screw and it should come away, there is somtimes a screw or two holding the hard drive in place undo these, put a bit of pressure on the hard drive and try to move one way or the other until it moves away from the connectors and the drive should then pull out. hope this helps.

The hard drive is behind the cover where the mic and earphone are located. Turn the laptop over and there is a single screw that secures this cover. Remove the screw then slide the cover and hard drive out. The cover and cradle are attached to the hard drive.

ok, theres a small issue with the raid controller. You have to install a 3rd party raid driver (its on the dell cd) to continue, OR, you can set that BIOS's hard drive controls to ATA or LEGACY (legacy would likely work best, but youd have no 'raid' functions, but who sets up raid drives on a notebook?). Your last option is use the dell discs to restore, and inssert the windws disc when prompted
