Question about Hannspree 19" Widescreen LCD Flat Panel Monitor

Monitor not coming on

Ive moved my pc from one part of the room to the other and it keeps saying "vidio cable not connected" I did not have one and plugged all cables exactly how they were.

This did happen when I first assembled it and I think I needed to install a disk. I cannot find the disk. I cannot get the monitor to connect to the hard drive.

Ive tried that and the monitor will still not come on. I remember this happening when I first bought it 3 years ago and phoning the tech people. They sent me a CD to solve the problem. any suggestions. Remember my monitor is completely dead.

Make sure the blue (VGA) video cable are firmly connected on both ends - finger tighten the thumb screws. You should be all set.

What is the OS your using? Simply unplugging a montior and moving the system should not result in you haveing to reinstall the video drivers for the monitor.

I have a Hannspree 25 inch monitor and have never had any issues with XPP, Vista, Linux or with a MAC just by simply plugging it in. You could have a bent pin on your video cable, have you inspected the ends?

first thing check all power cables and monitor cables are plugged in properly , also you might check the monitor cable , inside the medal housing to see if any pins were broke off while moving. this would be an easy fix , just buy a new cable. if not check to see if you have a video card and that it is not moving around and properly seated to motherboard. if not most pc's are onboard video which would be entirely different issue. most of the time when moving pc's its usually a simple fix.

While moving you may have slightly dislodged the Video card. (I am assuming you have connected the VGA cable properly.) If it a desktop, with a VGA card (not integrated on the mother board) this may be the cause. Switch off the computer open the side panels. push down the VGA card. If the screw is holding it is loose, tighten it. Reboot. Most probably it will work. Otherwise, go to control panel and use add hardware. Once it comes to the driver CD part, select the the option to choose the best driver. Most chances are that it will find the earlier driver that is on your computer. If this fails, google the name of the VGA card + driver . Download the drive and Install it.

I moved my computer to the next room, now the moniter comes on briefly and gives a no signal messages, was working fine

I know this sounds hokey, but check the monitor cable at both ends. Where it plugs into the computer, and where it connects to the monitor. Sometimes the cable connected to the monitor can get pulled just enough to make it loose connection but it will still physically look connected.
Another thing to check is the cable itself. Disconnect the end that's connected to the computer and look at it. If it's a VGA connector make sure you havent bent any pins on the cable during the move.
Something else that comes to mind is if the computer has a dedicated video card. It is possible that the video card could have come unseated from the motherboard durning the move. It doesnt take much really. Carefully take the cover off the case and press down on the top of the video card firmly. It may be necessary to completely remove the card and put it back in.
Hope this Helps

I feel your pain. I finally moved my pc to a room with no windows! But seriously, try a different monitor first. See if you can borrow someone's to just try it before you do anything else. If that borrowed monitor works fine, then you know what the problem is. (Which I believe is the problem.) By the way, what started all of your problems?

You might need to replace the surface mount capacitors. measure the ESR on them, the higher it is, the more likely you are to get ripples. If this doesn't say much to you, take it to a lab. Use the warranty if you have it offcourse. Good luck
