Poor printing quality

I installed new cartridges a couple weeks ago, and already is the print quality gone way down. As if I have printed so many that the ink is almost gone. Any tips?

Dear friend,

Just few tipe.

1. Try to use glossy photo quality paper for photo print out. which is look good and not so expence of ink.
2 Use good quality glossy type normal paper for text print out. that can not **** much ink from the cartriges.
3. try to cover your printer always.
4. clean the head via tst print oftenly.

Thnks & waiting for your feedback.

Assuming OEM ink replacements - did you perform a calibration and cleaning of the cartridges? I've had inkjet heads dry up on me from not printing for a while - ran the clean the heads and recalibrated and that did the trick.

My Brother LC61 Series printer does not print - printer is less than 1-yr. I purchased new ink cartridge a couple days ago, however, all of a sudden, the printer will not print.

1st question that should be asked, is was it a genuine Brother approved cartridge with the right value of filtered ink?

If not then the jets will be possibly clogged.

if you return it for repair to brother under warranty, make sure its fitted with genuine cartridges otherwise warranty is void

please rate my help++++thanks for using fixya

Poor print quality

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridges that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

When copying in black only the quality is very poor in spots - in color it prints fine. I've already done every maintenance on the nozzles that is available. The poor quality is part of various lines are...

The print head is clogged. You can try unclogging manually.WARNING: next steps may lead to a defective of print head, try on your responsibility.
Open the cover and first remove the ink cartridges. Then open the holder and remove the print head.Run hot tap water and put the print head with the nozzles up to stream water.Hold that 5 mins then turn the print head around with the nozzles down.Hold that for every color of 5 mins. Then put the print head in hot water with the nozzles down.Left it water about 15 mins and then you must very nice to dry. When the print head dry put it in printer and start cleaning. If this not help you need to replace the print head. It's part number is QY6-0049.

Poor photo printing quality with new color cartridge

Shaking these cartridges does nothing except give you a little exercise. If this is a brand new HP cartridge you are having problems with I would return it to the store you purchased it from. HP brand cartridges should not give you these problems right out of the box. The print defects you are seeing are due to a dried up or clogged print head. If you like you can try hydrating the print head on a water soaked paper towel until the ink starts flowing, but there's a risk you will cross contaminate the colors.
