Battery time sucks! Even turned off it eats up two Sony 2500 mAh in 2-3 days. Some sw problem, I guess, but can it be upgraded?

Hi,
Clean the battery contacts on the batteries with a pencil eraser and clean off any build up on the metal contacts . Then insert new batteries and check if it is working properly .

If you still have issues then it is not due to the software problem ,but it is due to the hardware problem .You need to get it serviced from kodak.

Hope this helps.

What does the abbreviation mAh stands for

milliampere-hours.
1 Ah = 1000 mAh
It is a unit of electrical charge, often used when quoting battery capacity.

1,120 mAh implies that the supply give 1120 mA for 1 hour, or 560 mA for 2 hours, etc, It also implies that a 560mAh battery would have half the lifetime of an 1,120 mAh one over one discharge cycle.

These numbers are produced in a laboratory with instruments designed to measure that parameter and your batteries will often not perform as well as you might expect, because eg, when partially discharged, their voltage can drop slightly, and even when 'empty' they will in fact have some residual charge (unless they have been 'on' for a very long time)

Battery problem

Try upgrading the firmware on it. It depends mostly on what you are using on the device. If you do a lot of data-centric things like constant emailing, surfing the web, YouTube, etc. then you are going to use more battery. Applications running in the background also eat up battery life to keep active. Bluetooth uses more battery compared to using the phone itself. Lots of texting eats up battery life as well, both incoming and outgoing. Wi-Fi eats up battery like there is no tomorrow on just about any device. The TouchFlo 3D interface also uses more battery due to the graphics acceleration. You can turn off the TouchFlo interface to save battery power and go back to the regular Today screen. The device was tested for battery life with TouchFlo enabled however so that's more of an icing on the cake type of change for more power.

You may also want to try deep cycling the battery to see if that helps. Run the battery completely dead so it won't turn on the device anymore. The let it charge for 10-12 hours without the device on. That should cycle the battery and recalibrate the meter.

There are many diffferent reasons you could have lower battery life, it's always different for different people. HTC managed to keep the Touch Pro's battery life around the same as the Mogul even with the graphics acceleration and everything running. So simply turning off TouchFlo will probably increase total battery life by a bit.

you could upgrade to a higher MAH battery too.

I have sony AA 4 batteries. out of them 2 are working in the camera but 2 r not working. what could be the problem..

It may be a bad batch of batteries. However, I would take them out, put them in the charger, but try shuffling positions in your charger in case one of the charger slots is not working.

I have a Canon Powershot A590. The battery life is HORRIBLE! Is this a Camera problem? They do not last long at All.

Try getting some quality rechargable NiMH batteries and see if they last longer for you. The ones that I use in my A590 are rated at 2500 mah and last quite a while so far. I wouldn't recommend batteries rated at less than 2000 mah for this camera.

Best regards,
Bob

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM CAMERA EAT UP BATTERIES AND LENS STAY OUT

Try lithium ion or rechargable batteries (maH > 2500). Make sure you change the battery type setting in the Setup menu. Otherwise the camera will not read the battery charge properly.

CANON PowerShot A430 4.0mp Digital Camera eating batteries

The A430 is a 2 battery camera, and is known for being power hungry. Alkaline batteries just don't have the power for more than a few pictures in a digital camera (especially a 2 battery camera). Lithiums can also have problems. Some may also have reached their shelf life, and though right out of the package may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras for the most part should only be used with rechargeable NiMH batteries. If you read the camera's instruction manual concerning batteries, you may see the same recommendation. Modern NiMH batteries have over five times the energy concentration of the average alkaline (yep over five times more power!).

Keep in mind rechargeable NiMH batteries will save you money in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may be angry with yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

Initial charging time

hi there
the first charge should be around 12 hours, this then teaches the battery its max load.
ignore the charger if tells you its charged after a couple of hours.
after the first charge use as normal.

hope this helps

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W7 Digital Camera--battery problem

To solve this open the camera and remove the battery chamber (be careful with the cable that joins the chamber with the main board because it is very fragile). Once you have the battery chamber clean all the contacts with a contact cleaner. By all the contacts I mean, the 4 contacts for the batteries and the two contacts (male and female) that join the main board and de chamber. Be careful when you apply the contact cleaner to the main board contact bacause it is a liquid and might harm your lens if it reaches it. I have made this with my camera and worked awesome.

Extremely short battery life

do you use alkeline batteries? if yes then they would end in 20-25 shots. Instead, use rechargable batteries of 2500 mah which will last long, very long. On my Cybershot H1, they give aproximate 350 shots with single recharge.

Go for Sony Original Batteries or Uniross brand also works fine.

2300 mah/ 2500 Mah any will work.. :-)

Sony DSC-P93 battery replacement question

NiMH batteries. You can use the larger mAh AA. It has more capacity and should give you longer service before needing recharge. The battery manufacturers recommend that you do not mix the batteries. i.e. don't use mAh 2100 and mAh 2500 as one set, use all 2100 or all 2500 as one set.
