Question about Kenmore HE2 Plus Front Load Washer

1 Answer

My HE2 has started shaking a lot more then when it was new. It first i thought it might be out of level but adjusting that made no difference. It goes wild with just one towel in it.

I have a 1999 ford expedition. when I come to a stop, it starts to shake a little.

check the dipstick but I suspect that with 6 quarts ( gallon and a half)in an already filled sump that takes 4 quarts max is trouble in itself
coming to a stop and shaking indicates a vacuum leak or problem injectors
take it to an accredited service center , have the oil level adjusted and have the fault codes read

My washing machine shakes during spin mode

The machine must be level or it will shake. There should be feet under the front which screw in and out. Get a spirit level and adjust the feet so it is sitting level front to rear and side to side.
Also make sure it isn't rocking slightly when it's not running - if so screw out one of the feet till it's steady. If you don't have a spirit (bubble) level compare how vertical the sides are to the wall/cupboards etc. However a level is best as even a little lean can make it shudder.
Or your putting too much washing in it!

Severe shaking when spinning out

it could be you have to heavy a load or you do not have the washer level. Most washers have screw out feet that can be adjusted to keep them from shaking so violently the best thing to do is set a lever in different positions and directions on the top and level it completely and see if that does not fix your problem.

Shakes a lot on high speed spin

Hi from France,

It is paramount that all washing machines are set absolutely level. The slightest deviation will show on high speed spin.
Often the 2 feet under the rear are not adjustable but the 2 at the front will be. Ensure that there is no way that you can rock the machine as you adjust and that the feet become more difficult to adjust/turn as they reach optimum positioning ( because they are taking the weight of the machine by pushing down onto the floor).
If the machine is not very new and adjustment does not cure, it could be that one or more of the internal shock absorbers is malfunctioning but please ensure it IS absolutely level first!

Cheers,
John C

have you tightened the jamb nuts on the legs after leveling the machine so they can't move from where you set them initially when you leveled the unit?

Lots of shaking

If your washing machine is shaking you most likely have a leveling issue. The machine should have two adjustable front legs that can be screwed in or out. By using these and making use of a simple level you should be able to stabilize the machine. Also make sure that when you load the machine you evenly distribute the clothing around the agitator. Make sure not to group all the towels on one side of the machine, that sort of thing.
