Hp pavilion dv2500 won't boot. I can see some leds turn on but there's nothing on screen and no hard disk activity at all. What could be the problem?

itz may b caused frm many internal hardware cause, like the battery(main/cmos); ram; sm section of the system board; ccfl; inverter circuit; or even the lcd....

howevr, before proceeding to complex test to verify the current status of ur laptop, at 1st all u need is to put on the laptop to charge for atleast 4hrs..(the gauge status may show u a pseudo process)..
if u r a professional, remove the ram(s) from itz slot(s), gently rub itz connector teeth using a rubber to remove carbon or oxide formed if any..
connect it to a external monitor n see if display is coming..
check the internal system battery to b above +3v..

so itz always better to hv supervision..frm ur system admin/vendor/good or authorized service center....

HP DV6110us: 4 beeps, no boot

besides the beeps which indicate a motherboard timing issue. There should be LED blinking codes given on the front LEDs. I will include the blink codes below, but lets try to at least get the system up and running. First, I would like you to remove the RAM sticks from the laptop and just reseat one stick back in the machine. Try to boot with that one stick, if it does not, try the other alone. There have been issues when reseating the ram or re-installing it have temp. fixed the issue. If it does reboot, go to the HP support site, put in your model number of your laptop and download and install an updated BIOS. Below are the blink codes that may narrow down the problem.....

HP DV6000 LED Blink Codes

LED Component Error Condition
Blinking battery power LED Battery Insufficient charge on the battery
Blink: 1 - Caps Lock/Num Lock CPU CPU not functional
Blink: 2 - Caps Lock/Num Lock BIOS BIOS corruption failure
Blink: 3 - Caps Lock/Num Lock Memory Module error not functional
Blink: 4 - Caps Lock/Num Lock Graphics Graphics controller not functional
Blink: 5 - Caps Lock/Num Lock System board General system board failure
Blink: 6 - Caps Lock/Num Lock BIOS BIOS authentication failure

BLANK SCREEN HP DV 9000

Run system restore to factory default.

Start the system and hold down the f11 key till you hear a beep. Then follow the onscreen instructions.

Good luck.

HP Pavillion dv2500 laptop won't turn on

Kinda strange. Not turning on indicates a hardware problem, you made software changes. If the software changes caused a problem, it would start, just not boot to windows. I would first tryy to reset the laptop. Unplug it and remove the battery, hold down the power button for 60 seconds, then try again. If still no go, start removing hardware one at a time, hard drive, rem, wireless card, dvd rom. You may have a bad hard drive. Your pc should boot to bios if there is no hard drive installed. If that happens, run a diagnostic on your hard drive from your bios. Let me know if you need anything else.

New dell replacement battery wont charge insp 9200

Sounds like it is a bad battery - do you know if it was working before you purchased it? Could the pins between the battery and laptop be misaligned? I had this once and i had to get a new system board.

HP ZE4427 will not boot

Try removing the battery and run the laptop with just the AC adapter. Sometimes this problem is caused by a bad battery drawing excessive current. If the problem continues, the system board is bad and needs to be replaced. The HP laptop I'm using right now had that problem TWICE during warranty. If yours is no longer in warranty, you may be able to find a replacement system board from several online sources. I've used Blue Raven Technologies (www.blueraven.com) several times for system boards with good results.
