My igolf neo won't work with Windows 7 if i try

My igolf neo won't work with Windows 7. Whe I load the sync program from the disk that came with the product, the device will not connect to the sync program. If I try to download and install the new sync program, it will not fully load.

I fixed this problem by going to Start>Control Panel and uninstalling the Java 64-bit program. It is incompatible with the Neo sync application. The other Java program on there is compatible. It worked immediately without even restarting. (I tried the above Best Solution, but on the newer computers, I get a message saying the Vista driver is only for Vista, not for Windows 7).

Thanks for the update. I had to uninstall 2 64 bit Java programs to get it to work. I just installed the sync software on a new computer and had the same Java incompatibility.

I had this problem too. I suspect you loaded the XP USB driver. You need to use the Vista driver.
0. Uninstall the pl-2303 driver under Control Panel>Programs 1. Download the sync software from iGolf.com 2. Unzip the file to a known location 3. In that folder browse to the USB drivers: ...\iGolf_Neo_Installer\iGolf_Neo_Sync\Data 4. Use the PL-2303 Vista Driver Installer (make sure your Neo is unplugged) 5. Browse back to the standard installer software: ...\iGolf_Neo_Installer\iGolf_Neo_Sync 6. Double click on "iGolf Neo Installer" 7. Install the sync software. When I installed the sync software, it hung up at 99%. I waited about 5 minutes, closed it and tried opening the sync software. It worked fine. 8. Plug in your Neo and turn it on.
That should work.

Bushnell neo+

The wording on this question is almost word for word of a message I sent iGolf customer support. If it's my message I don't know how it showed up here on fixya. Sent it also to bushnell support, both said in essence that a demo unit won't work, although i have seen factory demo's being sold on various websites. 1 tech. @ IGolf uploaded to me 2 files EMBEDD01.GLF and SYSREG.SMI which I loaded on th my neo+ after deleting both of the 2 files originally on the unit. But again everthing works, satallite signal strong, courses are loaded but no yardage is shown. It seems to be working when mapping a hole on the course (front, center, and back) but on resume play hole shows no yardage.I believe it's the firmware that is in the demo unit. my ? to iGolf and bushnell was if there was anyway to update the firmware but neither gave me an answer.

Can not sync devicebushnell neo+

If you have a PC (Windows) then you MUST use Java V6 as the software interface between your computer and the Igolf site. If you have already switched to Java version 7, it just won't work. Google: neo Java and you'll begin to see the problems. No support from either Bushnell or Igolf on this. I had removed Java (re: all the recent security issues being discussed and installed V7. The application would not launch. I had to remove V7 and go fishing for V6 on the internet and reinstall it. Then I wwas back to it working. There are a number of other issues people are having (two accounts on the same machine... neo and trying to register neo+), Registration expirations, etc. If you can reach the Igolf/Bushnell real technical support people, you will have a better time of getting what you need to work. GEEEEzzzz. Bad, Bushnell! The neo series is great but this iGolf married is playing havoc on your customers!

If you have a MAC, then you need to Google MAC, etc.

I had the same problem with my bushnell neo plus. I used the igolf.com website's support/contact to ask for help, included my unit's ID. Igolf responsed teh next morning by releasing my ID. I was able to setup my profile and sync my device without a problem. Try igolf's customer support, impressive.

Recently received a Bushnell Neo for Christmas and having problems loading Bushnell Neo (provided) software to my computer. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and can't get past Quick Guide step 6,...

I've had the same problem today and found the following advice:

Solution:

1) Click on your Start Menu
2) Select Computer
3) Open Local Disk C.
4) Open Program Files
5) Open Bushnell
6) Open Neo Sync
7) Open Native
8) Delete IGolf.lck
9) Close out of everything, restart your PC, and attempt to launch the Sync Application again when your computer has started back up.

If the above fails to solve the problem, you need to install a new USB driver. Contact iGolf at 858-300-5513 858-300-5513 and they will email you the PL2303 Prolific Driver.

I downloaded the driver from
http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31
rather than send an email and now have it working on XP, Vista and windows 7 starter.

This solution applies to the newest version of iGolf Neo Sync. If you don't have the newest version download it from the IGolf site. Open iGolf Neo Sync and all of the courses in your backup file should appear under "My Courses". If all of your courses don't show up, click on "Settings" under "MY DEVICE" . On the page that opens you will see the tentative location of your backup files (for example, C:\Golf\Backup). If the location isn't correct browse for the right location. Once you find it click OK. Now all of your courses should show up under "MY COURSES" on the iGolf Neo Sync page. You can then send any of the courses to your GPS.
