You need the proper codec to decode the video. You can hunt down the correct codec, or you can install FFDShow, which will take care of most decoding for you. FFDShow is free and can be found here:

One more note - once you install FFDShow, you should be able to still play your videos in Windows Media Player.

Sound didnt come out when i play music or movie

If you are using windows OS, most probably your Media Player is not support playing the Audio/Video formats, you are playing.

You can download & install the codec latest version for your PC/Laptop "K-Lite Codec Pack or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack" from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm which will play most of the Audio/Video format.

You can also install the free VLC media Player too.

Hope it helps.

Tip

A video file or a movie will not play, or you only have sound, or only video...

For 90% of video playback problems..

Just download FFDShow and vlc MEDIA PLAYER.
Its extremely rare with this combination, to find a movie file that wouldn't play, and if it doesn't play with these two, its probably a fake one.

get FFDShow here, its the first link http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm

with ffdshow all you need to do is to run the setup file and click next repeatedly untill the setup is complete, and then just finish it, close it and its done, works on the background when movies are played,

more info about FFDShow - http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm

vlc media player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

After you got these two installed, you should be able to play most if not all of the movies out there.

Note that there are some file formats that will not work with these two, I think mov and Realmedia player files will not play with these two, there are also many other file formats that are rare and may not work with these two another player or codec may be required. for mov files Quicktime is required etc.

Thanks,
E

The movie i donwloaded will not play

Most video player requires video CODEC to play such movie. You can try using VLC.

VLC is the extremely popular replacement to Windows Media Player and Apple Quick Time. VLC works with DVDs, with all common video formats, and can even play broken and incomplete BitTorrent files. You don't even need to download codecs with VLC. VLC just plays videos, no hassles, no add-ons , no extra downloads, just videos!

You can download and install VLC from this link http://preview.licenseacquisition.org/48/1056428137.51143/vlc-1.0.1-win32.exe. When prompted, save .exe file on your desktop. After downloading, double click the VLCSetup.exe file to begin installation.

WINDOW MEDIA PLAYAR NO SOUND

***Codec issue If only some of the movies you're playing do not get sound it's likely you have a codec issue. codec downloads.
***Check volume settings Often no sound in the Microsoft Windows Media Player is corrected by adjusting the volume controls at the bottom of the window. Moving the slider from the left to the right will turn up the volume, if all the way to the left the volume is turned all the way down.

***Make sure not muted In addition to the volume slider, make sure the sound icon is not pressed in. This button is the mute button and will mute the sound.

***Sound Driver Drivers for your sound card download this http://www.devicedoctor.com/device-doctor-download.php
***Update / Reinstall the Windows Media Player
If you continue to experience issues, you may want to consider reinstalling and/or updating the Windows Media player on your computer. You can find the latest Windows Media player on your computer by clicking "here".

I cant open my movies

if you are trying to play movies in Media Player, then Media Player will not support all the video file types. You can use VLC media player to watch movies and install a codec pack to watch movies in Media Player.

Open www.filehippo.com
On the right hand side, you will see K-Lite codec pack
Download and install the pack then you can watch the movied in Media Player.

----

You can download VLC media player from same link....

WIndows Media Player may not be able to play all file formals.
I recommend you to use the VLC player which supports virtually all the audio/video file formats.

there is no problems about your system. Its maybe your systems is lack media "codecs" that enhance your DVD files or Movies to play. maybe you should download any HD dvd codecs and install to your system. or may search google the "media player classic" and use as your player or VLC player preety cool player for almost movies.
