SIMS 2 double deluxe, won't install

The first thing to check is the disc,, is it scratched, smudged try cleaning it or washing it with a solution of warm water and dawn dishwashing liquid. make the solution about 50/50 it should be slimy but not soapy. rinse it and let it air dry. if it is scratcheed try cleaning it with pledge furniture polish. This works wonders on discs. DO NOT use window cleaner. If the disc is new, it could be defective, exchange it for another. It might just take a longer period of time to load, you can try to wait it out.
If nothing else works, you can try a hard load, where you actually copy the files from the disc to your hard drive and install the game from the hard drive. Look here..
