    Did not understand the terminology.
    Are there some reset options?
Or anything else that I can try myself?

Put some papers in the feeder and try to press down the paper button for three seconds. if that does not solve the problem, please tell me the status of all the lights (power/ink/paper) on your printer.

Hi there,

Well the red light usually means a device error or failure. check the basics like the cable is it properly connected, seated correctly, paper jam (open printer top, front, side covers and check for debris like paper clips, small piece of paper, etc.), cartridge improperly installed (re-install cartridge and make sure the cartridge(s) are installed properly (you should hear a click noise when cartridge is properly seated), printer cover may be ajar or not properly closed, also, check that printer is supported by the computer's operating system. you may need to download and install the printer's latest software/driver for the computer's operating system. If you already have a proper driver then Unplug the printer from the computer and go to Device Manager and uninstalled the printer . Then go to Control panel and also uninstall the printer from there. Make sure all programs related to the printer is removed from the computer. Now re-install the printer and it's software all over again. Please post comments if further you have the same problem.......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Ink smudge on right side of paper

Chances are high that the process of clearing the jam has resulted in ink being released from the cleaning/resting pad area based over on the right hand side (where the printhead sits when not in use).
This waste ink has probable come into contact with the rollers and other parts over on the right edge of the paper.
You'll probably see this ink slowly fade out and disappear over time. If it doesn't however there's something effectively feeding things so check the resting pad for a loose tube, overflow, puddles, etc...
If there's anything like that, report back (preferably with images).

Error C000!! what can i do it wont print,

Hi,
  • Make sure the tank holding all the ink cartriges is properly aligned and can move side-to-side.
  • If it is crooked or can't move, check below it for a paper jam -- when the jam is that bad, the C000 appears to override the normal Paper Jam warning.
  • Make sure none of the ink cartridges has run completely out -- I tend to use them until they're bone dry, and got the C000 error....inserting a new cartridge cleared it right up.

HP PSC 1610 printer gives error message: Carriage Jam, clear carriage. I open the door and there isn't a Jam. I tried the solution (clean cartridge, turn off/on couldn't reset) posted by nanotech 9 Aug...

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Cartridge jam won't clear HP 5610v

I had the same problem and just got it to work. go to
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00577763&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&rule=22243&product=441125

go to the section "Moving the carriage" turn on printer and then unplug power. If you still cant move the carrage then remove both toner cartridge and all the trays. Then completely disconnect printer and stand it upright (so paper feed and cartridge tray is on top) Look thru the paper feed area to the left side of toner carrage and you will see a little plastic tab around the bottom back of the carrage. That tab is suppose to be inside a track on the bottom of the carrage. I think that when we put in or took out toner we must have pushed it to hard and that piece jumped out of the track and has "locked" the carrage. I just pushed the carrage up carefully and used a letter opener to move the plastic tab back into place (tab is spring loaded) print working fine now. Hope this solves your problem

Paper light says on.. wont reset after jam is cleared

We have a few of the HL-2070N's and I have seen this issue on a few of them. Usually it indicates one of several instances that can be found on Brothers website in the FAQ's about what does the LED indicate area.

The main solution I have found is that depending on where the paper jammed it has affected the drum/toner cartridge assembly somehow or another.
  • I recommend taking the Toner Cartridge out of the drum unit
  • clean the corona wire by moving the blue tab at the front of the drum unit back and forth several times
  • I have even used can air here to get it even better all around the drum unit not just at the corona wire area
  • After make sure all is clean put all back together
This has cleared up most all of my paper jam LED issues and allowed for further printing.
