Hi,i have a whistler 1773 laser-radar detector and it reads on the display DISTORT.i can't find anything in the owner's manual or on the website.can you help?thanks, angie

If compass is not calibrated correctly or if there is a strong magnetic field (dash or windshield mounted speakers), the unit will show incorrect direction or display "DISTORT". Re-calibrate the compass to correct the readings. Units that display "DISTORT" need to be moved farther away from the speakers or other magnetic field, then re-calibrate the compass. Optional Theft Protection/Extended Warranty Theft Protection
Whistler's optional 3 year theft warranty program (effective January 2002) offers the detector user protection against theft of their laser/radar detector. In the unfortunate event that your detector is stolen, it is comforting to know that your detector will be replaced! Simply follow the directions on the form enclosed with your unit or print out our online form and mail it, along with a copy of the receipt and payment, to the address listed. Once the form and payment is received we will provide you with a reference number. Note: The theft warranty protection isn't in effect until you receive a reference number from us. Our current program requires that the form and payment must be returned within 30 days of purchase, however and for a limited time only, we are waiving the 30 days from purchase requirement. If you have purchased any 1600 series laser/radar detector (This special offer is not available on any other detector model.) you are not too late, simply follow the instructions on the form and mail it in to us. In the unlikely event that your detector was stolen, simply inform us within 30 days of the theft and provide the following information:

  • Your theft protection reference number (Issued upon receipt of payment)
  • Name
  • Current complete address
  • Daytime telephone number
  • Email address (if applicable)
  • A copy of the police report indicating that your Whistler detector was stolen.
Once the above requirements are met a replacement or equivalent unit will be sent to you within 15 business days.
This offer is made available only to the original purchaser of the detector and is non transferable. Once used, this warranty is cancelled and a new one must be purchased for coverage of the replacement unit.
This offer is available in the U.S.A. only. Theft applications or claims from outside the U.S.A. will not be accepted and a copy of the original store receipt MUST accompany this form!

Extended Warranty
We are pleased to offer you an extended warranty for your Whistler laser/radar detector. Under the extended warranty, your detector will be warranted to the original purchaser for a period of 1 year from the date of expiration of the original warranty against all defects in materials and workmanship. To purchase the extended warranty, simply follow the directions on the form enclosed with your unit or print out our online form and mail it to the appropriate address provided, along with a copy of your sales receipt and a money order for $20.00, or payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express. (No personal checks will be accepted). You must receive a reference number (issued upon receipt of payment) from Whistler in order for your warranty to be in effect. This limited warranty is void if the unit is abused, modified, installed improperly, if the housing has been removed, or if the serial # is missing. Wide screen monitor distortion
Depending upon the screen resolution that has been set in Display, the image will be distorted on these large wide screen monitors.
To correct this distortion.
1. Create a large circle image using a draw program such as Paint (hold down the Shift key as you create the circle as it will draw a perfect circle).
2. Open Control Panel - Display - Settings tab and adjust the Screen resolution slider, increase or decrease the screen resolution then bring the circle image to the front and check the image, if the circle is still distorted then change the screen resolution and check the circle again until you are satisfied with the image of the circle.
3. When you are satisfied then click apply.

Alarm system is not activated we just bought the house and it keeps beeping off and on how do we stop it?


I would try and get the owners manual for the alarm system and see what it says about the beeping. It could be that it is just telling you it needs a new battery installed, something like the battery operated smoke detectors do when the battery is low. There are so many alarm systems out there that it is hard to tell what could be causing the beeping. It could have been configured with a audible alert that when the system is tripped by any motion it beeps when off. It is really hard to say without the manual. You can usually find the manuals on line at the manufacturers website. Good Luck, RAC

Can't enter casio qt-2000 pgm mode


Hi.
The most common reason is that you are signed on as a clerk who doesn't have programming authority. Clerks (operators) can be programmed to have security levels. See if you can find any other clerk logon codes for a manager level. Hopefully the other owner left some info for you.
Otherwise, the PGM button may have been moved in programming or locked out, but I'd try another clerk first.

I searched all over unable to find anything ebay included there is one manual in the ebay.co.uk website, but nothing for download any other manual that I cam across was in German.

Technics is made by panisonic and not even their website contains the manual. you may be able to contact them to aquire one. http://www.panasonic.com/

The positioning of my desktop's imageis still distorted despite running the easy tune display wizard and my using the auto tune keys on the side of the monitor.


Use the manual methods on your monitor (horizontal and vertical size and position), not the auto tune and see if you can get it to improve.

Try using a different desktop picture as well.

Right click on the desktop where there are no icons, and change the picture. Also, play with Stretch/Center/Tile - stretch will distort a file if it doesn't exactly match your screen settings.
