Question about Kenmore 24 in. 16032 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

I have Whirlpool control board part #8267371. The problem is that the dishwasher does not complete a cycle. A green light on the door will flash. From what I understand it indicates a failure in the heater at some point. I replaced the heater and all I am left with now is the possibility that the control board has failed. So my question is this. Are there common problems associated with these boards ? Which components should I be looking at ? I don't have a schematic. Or is there anyone that can supply a new board or repair it for me. Maybe I could be missing something else.. Thanks for any help you can give.

Yeah, I'm in the middle of that, too. There's a thermal fuse you can check with a meter just above the control panel inside the front door. It should be 0 ohms. Then it's the control board, I guess. Looking for the same one myself right now. I'm going to resolder the solder joints on the board and see if that fixes it.
Yup. That fixed it. Now to see how long it lasts.
The joints on the relays are hard to solder, as well as the ones to the wire terminals, because it has a polyurethane coating. You have to burn or scrape through that and just remelt the solder.

Our Whirlpool dishwasher GU2500XTPT1 clean light blinks and will not go off. When we push the start/cancel button, it cycles through the 2 min cycle as the book says it should do and all lights go off. ...

That could be a problem with the control board, but before anything else try unplugging it from the wall, or turning the circuit breaker off. After turning it back on, see if it still happens. Also check to be sure the door is closing properly.

Green Lights flashing, Whirlpool D/Washer not responding

Well I contacted a couple of techy guys I know and they were not familiar with the dishwasher. I then called the outlet we had purchased from to see if they could refer us to a service technician. I explained what I wanted and the woman on the phone asked what the problem was - she then asked me to close the door of the dishwasher and hold down the start button for 30-40 seconds to see what happens, which I did. At about the 30 second mark the machine started. She said it was likely that someone had interrupted the last cycle and we had effectively reset it. It ran a further 30 seconds to complete that last part of the interrupted cycle and has been fine ever since. My wife took them a box of chocolates the next day. Shows to go ay? Kind regards Peter

Make sure that you do not open the door during the wash cycle. Wait until all the cycles are complete before opening the door. Especially don't open the door during the drying cycle.
