Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

My Sansa Clip+ player won't take an inital charge. I instant messaged with their help desk and they were stumped and said they'd have the next level service technician contact me. Right. When I did get an e-mail from them it said "we understand that you need to reset your password". I contacted them again and got the same e-mail back. I've tried just about everything on their site with no luck. Going to Europe in a week and bought this silly thing so I could download some walking tours. I'm still crossing my fingers that this can be resolved in time. One more thing, I also bought a charger that plugs in and I can't get a charge on that either. I would think I received a bad Cli+ except for the fact that I bought 2 and I'm having the same issue with them both. Help!

Plug in the a/c charger to the wall outlet then connecting it to the player. hold the power button on the device and see if that helps. you may have a bad converter and/or low power usb, try connecting the usb cable to a different usb port on your computer if one is so available.. most usb devices won't be recognized unless they are powered on (atleast that's been my experience)

I believe the mp3 player's charge to last for 15 hours. It is only holding a charge for about 5 hours

Ifthe recharageable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

My sanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player will not charge anymore. At least not on the computer I'm on. I have had it hooked up to charge for 2 days now and nothing. Why is this and how can I charge it?

This is direct from the sansa FAQs at http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs 02. Why won’t my Sansa Clip charge when I connect it to my computer? USB Cable
Make sure that the USB cable is properly plugged in and use the original cable.

Computer in Hibernation mode
Make sure that the computer isn’t entering hibernate or sleep mode while the device is connected. The computer must be on in order to charge your player.

USB Port 2.0
Make sure your player is connected USB 2.0 port (1.1 occasionally causes charging problems).

USB Port location
Try plugging in different USB port (i.e. USB port in the back of the computer); sometimes the front USB ports have problem charging up the device.

Battery
Make sure the battery is fully charged. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery.

Latest firmware
Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

I hope this helps, and don't forget to rate the answer.

• CD-ROM drive
• USB 2.0 port for hi-speed transfers and charging

Make sure HOLD button is not on.

Battery
The Sansa
®
Clip player comes with an internal rechargeable battery. To use the player for
the very first time, remember to fully charge the battery. You can charge your Sansa
®

Charging
To charge the battery, please follow these steps:
1. Connect the larger end of the USB cable into an available USB port on the
computer.
2. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable into the Sansa
®
Clip player.
3. The computer must be on for most USB ports to charge your battery. Your

The battery level indicator will blink while charging. You will not be able to
play while connected to the computer USB.
4. To stop recharging, simply disconnect the cable.
The battery can also be charged using an AC adapter (not included) or a car adapter
(not included) and you will be able to play your device while charging with one of the

power. Also note that the rechargeable batteries are not replaceable.

Audiobooks

Make sure that your music service subscription is up to date. Even if your subscription is up to date, some audiobooks/music files require you to pay extra to play the file on your Mp3 player -it's a dirty little game they play.
