Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Web cams I am thinking of buying a webcam so that I can keep in touch visually with a friend through our computers. Neither of us has used a webcam before and we are both non-technical. Can you please advise us what we need to check out on our PCs to find out if we can use a webcam with them and what else do we need to know, such as the most suitable webcam?

If you're running Windows XP, have an available USB port, and decent (not dial-up) internet, you're good to go! Any camera on this page should do it for ya, though I'd recommend any Logitech or Microsoft camera:

They're also very easy to install, and usually include some sort of chat software. If the included software doesn't suit you, install any popular instant messenger (MSN Messenger would work well) or Skype and you'll be on your way.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The driver of the webcam are lost,

I understand that web cam driver is very important because you can keep in touch with your family and friends by using video call, without the web cam driver this is not possible. But don't worry I will do my best to help you in resolving your concern. There's a website where you can download a web cam driver for free online.

Please just click_here so that you will be directed to the exact site.

Once you find the exact web cam driver that suits to your laptop, just click on the download, just follow the prompts then you are good to go.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

My web cam wont work w/vista

Yeah I had same problem with mine, when someone tries viewing it, all they got was a black screen too. Downloading an "Older Version Of Yahoo Messenger" wlll not solve the problem, as being "Older" it would be even more less likely that it would have supported you Webcam back then, let alone now.
Unfortunately, just one of those things. You can either Buy a New Cam that comes with Vista Support, Backup your whole system & format the hard drive & install Windows XP. Or you can just sit back and hope that Support will be added for your Webcam in the near future.
(Although 2 yrs later and I still can't see My OLD Webcam listed as compatible with Vista, so may have a long wait).

hi friend,
First think you have check is see your video on your computer, you dont how to see if you are using the windows xp operating system. goto my computer the see the web cam on the other device. double click the icon and then it shows the video of your's. If you cant see any icon on the My computer window. Then you have to see the My computer porperties.
there you can see the hardware tab and hardware settings and see the multimedia devices. see it is working properly.

you can't see after these changes of settings then you have to install the web cam software again on your computer.

inform if the prob comes again
bye friend.
