My remote stopped working and nothing seems to correct the problem
After about 18 months the remote stopped working. Replaced the batteries to no avail. Tried to get a universal remote to control it but can't seem to find a code that will work. I also called the number in the User's Guide but nobody answers the phone. Anyone have a fix for this one?

If you are using its original remote control handset with this set, replacing batteries will poise no problem at all. If remote control does not works properly check the following.
Check to see if there is any object between the TV and the remote control
Are batteries installed with correct polarity (+ to +, - to -)?
Correct remote operating mode set: TV, VCR etc.?
The light at its side
Illuminates the remote control
buttons of selected mode.
I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.
I had this exact same problem. After a week or so it started responding to the remote control again. Then after a couple of days it stopped responding. This problem came and went for about a month, then one day the entire TV went dead. When I powered it on, the green light appeared for 2 seconds followed by a sequence of 6 flashing red lights that repeated. I brought my set in to a repair shop and they replaced the power supply board. That fixed the problem and now the TV powers up and responds to the remote control again. Total charge was $250. That was very disappointing for a $1,500 TV that was only 18 months old. I'm going to let Philips know how disappointed I am in their product!
Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items on the board that the power cord is hooked to.If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should get it working again.I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!
The proble is the IR sensor 932220681667 or the small signal board. I would replace the IR sensor first. Also check the firmware and make sure it is BX23U-22.214.171.124_03531 and if it is not go to www.usasupport.com and down load the firware on a USB stick. If the set still has the problem when both are done replace the small signal board.
