I turned on my Trutech TV/DVD/Radio this morning and the TV was working. I turned it off later then turn it back on and all I have now is a snowy screen. I am connected to cable thru U-verse. Can you help me get a picture. Thanks, Lorene Means Model # KLV3170

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To reset the picture you’ll need to reset all the Video menu options to their original factory setting for which you’ll need to follow this step-by-step procedure--- Press the Menu button and then use up or down arrow button to select the Video menu. Now press the right arrow button and then use up or down arrow button to select Video Reset then press the right arrow button to reset the Video menu options to original values.

If still the problem persists, then you’ll need to check for local interference such as an electrical appliance or power tool and also check the antenna. If required change the direction of the antenna. To resolve the issue of Snowy Screen, first check whether all the cables from your dish network are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the TV, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage a tube. So we are doing real small adjustments. Turn the color off on the TV and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture.

And, if it doesn't resolve your issue then it is an intermittent blue picture tube, a bad blue driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the blue CRT board, or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

7'' Trutech lcd tv and dvd not working

Pls. check your antenna line if it is still connected. Blue screen happens only if your
tv is not getting any signal from your indoor or
outdoor antenna.

This kept happening when I would go to turn on the set the TV kept playing fine with picture & sound but after the 2nd attemts I turned it off & then tried to turn it back on which took multiple attempts, it kept playing for a few minutes then the picture went out but the sound was still there.

yes it could ba the cable itself even, but i suspect more the tuner circuit or tuner itself may have bad solder connections. Here is another test for you to try, plug another dvd or vcr, or xbox etc. into the back, using one odf the inputs. See if this works like the built in dvd. if so it will be more likely bad connections in the tuner or surrounding circuit. good luck.
