My husband unplugged the power cord from the unit and the power source to test it and found the transformer was working fine. He then plugged it back into the unit and then into the power source and it was working again!!!! I don't know why, but who cares when you can use it again. Good luck...I hope this works for you, also

My wii won't turn on and I tried unplugging and disconnecting all the cords and it still won't work...any suggestions???

First verify the outlet on wall you are plugging the Wii into works.
Unplug the power cord from Wii AND the wall to allow proper discharge of the power unit. If you do not unplug from wall outlet to then the power unit will not discharge.
It could take up to 15-30 minutes sometimes.

I cant turn my wii on at all, checked connections all plugged in but no power

Unplug all of the cables from the Wii and the wall and TV for 10-15 minutes. This is like a reset for the power cable and, once you do this, it should work fine.

Power Outage & Now Wii Won't Power Up...

When this same thing happened to me, I unplugged the Wii power supply from the wall (not just from the back of the Wii) and let it sit unplugged for about 10 minutes. When I plugged it back in, everything was fine.

Wii completely stops working after power outage

I just had the same problem as everyone else. I had a brief power loss and our new Wii system's power would no longer work. To fix the problem, I unplugged everything from our Wii and unplugged the power cord from the outlet. I let the system set for 10 minutes and re-plugged the power only. That did the trick. Then I was able to plug everything back up and we are now back to playing.

Supposedly, doing the steps above resets the Wii according to the Nintendo online trouble shooting guide.

Wii console will not come on

First things first. We'll start from the beginning. Unplug the AC Adapter from the wall and from the Wii. Let it sit for 15 minutes. Then plug it back in. 9 times out of 10 your power supply needs to be reset. The only way to reset it is to unplug it from the wall and the wii and let it sit for 15 min. Try this first and report back if it worked. Even if you think you have done this already do it again.
