How do you open up this machine? I need to get in and do a simple repair--replacing the steam wand. Unfortunately it's so recessed into the case you sommehow have to get the outer shell off to access it. How does this unit come apart? Thanks--

The top comes off...you have take the clock out, undo a nut behind it and then you can pry the top off carefully. There are several metal pegs that engage holding clips that you are undoing by prying.

My coffee machin (X5) keep blowing the fuse in the kitchen. The on/off switch is now redundant and can only switch it on and off my plugging and unplugging it. I replace the fuse and it blows again.

I for some reason lost the chat session, at my end with you earlier, this is mr bean. Did I help you to the point of checking out local restaurant. Supply stores or espresso appliance repair shops in your area? I wrote you earlier back, and don't know if you got my message of taking it in local to have them put on the new wand, with the new o ring. I feel you could do it yourself, you might be able to contact machine manufacture and get that wand from other machine that you want to put on yours and ship it to you, and try put on yourself or local appliance repair/espresso machine shop to instal it, take maybe10 minutes ton change over. Again sorry if last message i sent you didn't get or this is a rerun. Fun life if computers lol . Please let me know if I have helped, thanks mike (mr bean)

Zero steam from steam wands. No pressure.

First thngs first, make sure knob is turned to 2, then make sure there is water in the boiler, then turn machine to 0, remove back panel and reset thermostat on top of back boiler, if your machine has that feature installed. Then turn machine to 2, open one of the steam wands, If within 10 minutes boiler does get hot or there is no water bubbles, from steam wand, then the pressure stat might be damaged and needs to be replaced.

Hello, i have the ranchilio home espresso machine, sylvia. the steamer is not working on it, slowly got worse in the last two weeks and is now not working at all. this has happened before. I believe it is...

Yes it is easy to replace, but first check the end of the steam wand make sure the holes are not blocked, If you open the steam valve and the wand is hot it is because of blockage, if you only get warm water and no steam then the thermostat is gone.

No steam coming out of heating nozzle for Wega

Remove the nozzle on the end of the steam wand, them open valve to see if the steam wand works, if yes use a paper clip to clear holes on nozzle, if no remove steam wand where it is connected to the valve then open wand(steam will be spraying be careful). If you have steam there then clean wand and nozzle.

Saeco Digital Italia Fix

I had this same issue with my machine and unfortunately I had to send the machine back for repair. The steam knob should pop right back on, if positioned correctly. The people (Starbucks, Saeco) whom you spoke to were correct, that there is build up of steam (or back pressure) it will cause the knob to pop of in these conditions. The root cause of this problem is most likely (as in my case) that you steam wand is clogged. Even if you keep it cleaned externally, there may still be debris that builds up INSIDE the wand. To correct the problem, take some wire (we used decorating craft wire) that will fit into the end of steam wand. Push the wire as far up as you can and continue to move back and forth. Flush the wand either with steam or hot water and repeat several times. I do this every month or so to keep the debris from building up inside the wand. Good luck and I hope this works for you.

Breville espresso machine 800 ES

I have the same problem. It appears to be caused by a worn steam wand gasket that's inside the steam wand assembly which can be unscrewed from the Breville machine. This was confirmed by the folks at Breville. They referred me to www.thegourmetdepotco.com. That website does not sell the steam wand gasket separately. They sell "Frother Assembly MOdel #800ESXL-250" for $14.95. With tax ($1.42) and shipping via USPS ($5.65), the total is $22.02. A very high price for the failure of a simple plastic washer, but it beats buying a new machine!

Gaggia titanium leaking water underneath

i had this same problem. the solution is simple if you are a little bit handy.
there is a bad valve inside. i called Whole Latte Love where i bought the machine and ordered a Steam Valve complete - Compact Frame
its part number GA-%0345.R and two O-Rings

the valve that comes with the machine is plastic and the new one is a brushed metal casing. my guess it will last for 10 years!

two screws on the back and the machine is open
near the front, by the steam wand, with a hose attached coming from the heater, is the valve, attached to the knob on the side
two more screws and the valve wrapped in a plastic housing comes out.
open the plastic housing, remove the insulated hose to the steam wand and the water/steam plastic hose that comes in. replace the valve, hook up the two hoses, but back in housing and you're done. attach back to knob on the outside, put back together and in 30 minutes, the Titanium is like new. no leaks.

it sounds daunting but is pretty easy and beats sending the machine back for repair. i can't go a morning let alone a month without coffee from my Gaggia. once repaired, the coffee is hotter too.

No steam, just hot water.

The steam wand has to be removed to be cleaned properly. Unfortunately, this procedure is not outlined in the manual. Just cleaning the wand on the outside or using a clip to clean the tip is not enough.

The other end of steam wand where it connects to the pressuring cabin actually swivels around a fitting. It is this fitting that you need to thoroughly clean. Years of using the machine can cause calcification around this fitting.

If you look under this end of hte steam wand, you should see a philllip-headed screw. Before you loosen this screw, you have to remove the grey trim so that the entire wand can be remove.

Once the entire wand is removed, what I just described will be much clearer.
