Did you notice that the computer started freezing after you have installed any software or any type of hardware to the computer. If yes, then uinstall the software or remove the hardware and the drivers and check.

You may also try to do a system restore prior to the date you started having problems with the computer.

If not, then back up all you data and reinstall the OS.

Drive medic starts but hangs with please wait message when trying to recover inaccessible disk

It is due to administrative privilege issue. Make sure you have the administrator privilege when you run the software. Else, while trying to scan the inaccessibe files user access control will prevent the software from scanning those files which can cause the scan to get stuck.

I have been using spy sweeper for a couple of years and have had no problems until last week. Every time I try to run a sweep the program hangs my system so hard it requires a power reset. During a sweep...

boot the maschine in secure modus, backup your stuff !!!
1st solution is to try to re-install spysweeper, but as i have done a few times as so... its better to uninstall it fully, reboot, remove settings from sweeper in registry;
reboot again;
if everything goes well, install sweeper again;
if not after having confirmed, that your data is securely back-uped to external media, re-install system.

other case bevore, try to reset system to good working situation, but as you wrote, you removed dll... hmmm... think ur system s badly damaged. sweeper sometimes does fragment parts of system so badly, that theres no other option.
u could try to check system with other sweeping tool... happens, that bug gets looping system...
good luck

Blue screen on my hp

For nontechnical people who need a solution on how to fix the Blue Screen of Death,there is no simple answer to that.
TheWindows operating system constantly refers to the registry to get informationabout all of the components such as hardware and software which are installedon the computer. The registry tells Windows what to do and how to access thevarious programs, files, and processes.

However,the registry can contain bad information which sends Windows off doing uselesstasks or running unneeded routines. Sometimes errors occur including the bluescreen of death. Other times the system slows down. Because of the sheer numberof factors that can affect the registry, there’s no one size fits all approach.You can’t just go into the registry and remove the bad information because it’snearly impossible to decipher which information is good and which informationis bad. That’s a job better suited for software.

Hangs up EVERY time I try to repair empty registry keys - now have 1109 of them.

I think you are using an old version of this software. Stompsoft Registry Repair is now Migo Registry Repair 5. You can contact the new company, and you can tell them you are an old customer who has issues with software, and want an update. Because this problem can be caused by an incompability of the software with your operating system. (Especially Windows Vista)

When using CDBurnerXp burning DVD video's from ISO files, the resulting DVD often does not play properly on a DVD player. Sometimes the sound breaks up, sometimes the picture pixelizes like interference,...

I haven't used that particular program, but I've made hundreds of DVDs. The first rule is to use good brand name media, I recommend Verbatim. Pixelation is a sign of poor quality media quality.
Give it a try with Verbatim disks.
