I cannot open HP director

Go online to HP.com and see if HP Solution Center is available as a software upgrade for your printer.
Director was discontinued ages ago and most printers have the solution center software available from their website.

We just had a power outage. Upon restoring power, the copier came up with a call service c-6000 error. Is there a fuse somewhere?

C-6000 Indicates a bad fuser. Could be just a poor connection in the fuser, thermister, thermostat. etc. Regardless you need an authorized service center.

Phaser 8400 error code 37,016,43:7052

From the service manual:

37,016.4x - PEST_FAULT_HM_CLUTCH_DISCONNECT
PEST - Head maintenance clutch disconnect. The head maintenance clutch is not
drawing the expected power from the supply.
1. Run the Head Maintenance Clutch test.
2. Check the Head Maintenance Clutch wiring.
3. Disconnect the Wave Amp signal cable from the left
side of the Electronics Module. If the error code
changes, replace the Wave Amp.
4. Replace the head maintenance clutch.

I have the full service manual available should you need it. Thanks and please take a moment to rate this solution as fixya.

We have a Phaser 8560 Printer and we are getting the message "maintenance kit low" message. What does this mean and how do we fix it?

This will require servicing:
The maintenance kit contains a maintenance roller that keeps the surface of the Imaging Drum clean and oiled.
NOTE: Order a new maintenance kit when the Display Screen displays a message that the maintenance kit is low. Replace the kit when the Display Screen prompts you to replace the maintenance kit. Both a Standard Maintenance Kit and an Extended Maintenance Kit are available for the Phaser 8550 and 8560; however, only a Standard Maintenance Kit is available for the Phaser 8500. An Extended Maintenance Kit will not be functional with the Phaser 8500.

WARNING: The printer's interior may be hot! Do not touch the hot surfaces.

Once you have the part: instructions:
  1. Open the door on the right side of the printer.
  2. Grasp the maintenance kit (labeled A) from the maintenance kit slot and pull the kit completely out of the printer.
  3. Insert a new maintenance kit and push the kit completely into the maintenance kit slot. Follow the illustrated instructions included with the maintenance kit for full installation and disposal information.
  4. Close the door.
This will be on the right side of the printer.
This will need to be replace every 10,000 sheets of paper.

  1. Close the door.
