Screen Broken I have the tv in an RV I pull behind my truck. I think something hit it inside. When I turn it on it looks like a window that has been broken but hasn't fallen apart yet. I guess another way to explain it is splintered. Is it cost effective to have repaired? A new one is about $700.00. Looking for an opinion and a little education before going to a repair shop. Thanks

This is repairable, but I really wouldn't recommend it. The dealer price on this panel is $457.63. Once you figure labor costs you are probably in the neighborhood of $600 if not more.

Unless you really like this particular TV I think you would do better to just buy a new one for the $100 difference.

My three year old twin were playing and hit the tv screen with one of their toys and now it looks funny I think they broke something can it be repaired? And if so would it be worth fixing or should I just...

This is an LCD screen and they probably damaged the panel itself. So I would sell the tv for parts on ebay or craigslist and recoup some of the lose as all the other parts are still good and someone out there will have the same tv with something else broken. Use that money to buy a new tv. That is why I like old tube tv's. Takes a lot more then a toy hitting the screen to take them out.
Good luck,

Wiimote hit my LCD. Looks like there are 3 layers - 2 are fine

You are most likely better off buying a new TV. You will need a replacement screen to fix the broken one but the cost of this can be almost as costly as a new TV so it is not economical

Samsung LN-T3242HX

Hello Compgeek09,
It appears that one of the CCFL lights might have broken behind the screen and that is why the TV would turn on for 1 second and goes off after.
The noise you are hearing could peaces of shattered or broken light and you would have to remove the screen and to be able to fix it, if you are up for the challenge.
Let me know if you required further assistance.
