Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Office jet 5510. I installed new cartridges. I put in the correct ones, but the printer keeps saying I installed the wrong black cartridge. I have turned off the power, unplugged everything, then connected it back up. But it keeps saying I installed the wrong black cartridge.I took out the cartridges, double checked them, and put them back in...same message. Both cartridges are in their correct positions.
Look on the right side where the cartridge goes, if the spring on the right is hanging loose it might have poked a hole in the ribbon cable at the rear near the contacts. If so it's time for a new printer, if OK, check the exp. date on the ink cartridge and if it's been refilled or a generic ink you may just need another one.
