You must remove the battery for 12 min, and start your computer with the power cable.

Try opening the bios setup and change the boot order making harddrive no.1 in the boot order.

If all that not working, just press F12 and setup a new windows copy, may be the windows copy is damaged.

My Dell Windows 7 laptop won't boot?

Press the Delete key during start up, to enter its bios settings window. At boot sequence selection, select CD ROM as first boot device, Hard disc to second boot device, and deselect all other boot devices. Means, there should be only CD ROM and Hard disc as boot devices, as said above, in sequence. Select 'Save and reboot' at the bios option, the computer will restart with hard disc; provided there is no CD at CD ROM. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

How to make CD Rom run as BOOT? please key in

Go into the BIOS and change the boot startup device order. Make the CD the first boot device and the hard disk the second boot device.
If you do not wish to change the BIOS you may select the CD drive as an alternate boot device by pressing F10 or F!2 as the laptop boots up to bring up a list of devices to want to boot from, select the CD drive and the follow the screen prompt.

When I turn on my Laptop the Dell Inspirer E1505 it says A Disk Read error occured Press Ctrl + Alt + Dell to restart then i restarted the computer i pressed F2 and the BIOS setting came up i went to...

It's asking you for a password to access the BIOS. You or someone entered a password to access the BOIS (setup screen). The original problem you're having is "Disk Read Error". If you have the CD's that came with your laptop, look for a Resource CD or any that has "Utilities and Diagnostics" under "Contents". This is a CD that you can boot from. Insert the CD and select <F12> on power on. Select boot from CD/DVD disk. If the laptop boots then your laptop is working but your hard disk drive or OS (Operating system software) is the problem.

No boot device

A boot device is typically the main hard drive which contains your operating system.

There are a couple of reasons you'll get this message:

  1. You or somebody else modified the BIOS and disabled the bootable hard drive. To fix this, turn the computer on and watch for a prompt that includes the words BIOS or SETUP. It should have a key associated with it (F2 and Delete are two common options). Look for the boot up section and make sure that your primary hard drive is on the list (usually 1st or 2nd in the boot sequence.).
  2. Your hard drive is damaged or the boot sector is damaged and the BIOS can't find the boot information. In this case, I would take the computer to a local professional. Your hard drive may not be recoverable.

Dell logo appears and message appears INSERT BOOT DISKETTE...

A couple of things can cause this.

1] having the 'boot order' set up so that the computer looks to a removable device that has non-bootable media in it.
2] somehow the 'boot' device has lost it's 'boot' properties.

Best way to troubleshoot:
1] find the boot CD
2] re-strat the machine and enter the "BIOS setup" mode <f10>, or <DEL>; I think::verify the boot order
this should likely be: C: ; CD ; A:

allow machine to start with CD and check to see if anything on the wanted 'boot' device has been lost; sometimes it will get smashed.

Let us know what you get after this point, because I would rather give you an answer based on knowledge from this part of the exercise.

No boot device available

Make sure all the connections to the Hard Drive are tight and secure. Then see if it will boot. If not then try loading a windows cd and see if it detects the Hard drive. If it does not the hard drive is no good if it does try running the automated system recovery you may have a corrupt MBR file.
