Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
I have an emachines i bought back in 2003 and one day after doing the updates it just wont turn on what so ever..I took it to a friend whom knows about computers and he checked the power switch and the power to it and the fan and everything else and everything seems to be working with it but it just wont turn on..I would like to see if any one out there can help me out..He said it might be the mother board and it if is where could i find it..Please help asap....Write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. thank you for your attention..
Also in addition to the above, try reseating the ram chips..take them out individually and plug them back into their respective slots..might be the miracle cure..If the motherboard fan turns on, it might just be bad memory..replace RAM chips

Have you all seen how many e machine have the same problem or very similar problems !?!?
Surely if somehow we could all get together and complain to e~machines together, they would have to do something, right?? It looks to me as though the problems are a manufacturing fault or sloppiness, and that they should do something about it!!!

Emachines have famously bad power supplies, so I would suspect that first. It's also much easier (and cheaper) to replace the power supply than the motherboard, so I'd recommend starting there. I can refer you to a sub-$50 power supply that would work for you if you like.
