Down towards the bottom is a button that says: 'Scan your PC for compatibility' Below that is a link to download the advisory software. This software will scan your computer and tell you if it will run Windows 7 and if not, what you can upgrade to make it work.
if your in good standing with bill gates (ie your os is legit) go to the windows update sight and download thier newest "standalone update utility" i think its called microsoft update. Once installed use the custom function, the software will scan your pc and provide a list of available updates (including hardware drivers!!!)
To remove the infections please run the following scans:
click on run when the download finishes after that click on run again on the next prompt. you will get the blue window press 4 to update the software after that press 2 to run the scan when the scan runs it will prompt for reg scan press y for yes.
after this scan is over if you have windows xp run this scan:
follow the prompts by clickin on yes and ok if it gives you a prompt to renam rename it as 123com.exe after that install the recovery console after that the software will run a scan and will automatically shut down your computer and restart it. and you are done.
You man need to do a windows restoration to a previous date when it was working fine.
If it doesn't fix the issue, you can boot up the windows in safe mode and uninstall any software you installed recently and also run a scan with your antivirus.
If your PC wont let you download any security software then you should go to a public library and download your software, save it to a disk and go home and install it....run the software and check for updates if you cant update, run the software without updating after the scan attempt another update, I recomend AVAST ANTIVIRUS HOME its free for a year with registration and works great
