I just replaced the light bulb in my unit. After plugging back on, both the light and the fan came on.
The fan will stop if I open the door, but the light is constantly on. The oven warms things properly and stops the magnetron at the end of the cycle, but now I have to leave the door propped open to avoid the fan running constantly. What could be wrong?
Which fan? the exhaust fan or the control board cooling fan? the cooling fan is controlled by a thermostat just behind the control panel. it turns the fan to protect the board from overheating.

It's the exhaust fan that runs if I close the door, even without starting a heating cycle. This fan is at the top of the microwave right next to the lamp.
It's the exhaust fan at the top of the unit. This fan is in the same enclosure as the light bulb I just replaced. It now starts running as soon as I close the door.
When I open the door my fan starts running
I am having the same problem and cannot figure out how to reset. Did you ever figure it out??
