shut off power to printer. Pull your photoconducter unit out and check the position of the black marker located on the edge of the tranferbelt. I know one time I was fortunate enough to fix this error by rotating the photoconducter belt so that the marker was in a different position. Becareful not to touch the photoconducter belt (green shiny part) if at all posible. Reinstall the unit and power up.

2. If the above trick doesn't fix it after turning the printer off for a few minutes and you still get the same error when printing... You will have to replace the photoconducter unit. I wasn't as fortunate the second time I attempted the above trick and ended up having to order a new one. But hey its worth a try!!

I have a Lexmark C522 Color Laser printer, all cartridges are showing as ok, no error messages but printed pages have specks of magenta toner on them

It sounds as though you have a leaking toner cartridge. If you aren't using Lexmark brand toner, that is VERY likely.. nobody seems to be able to make a good compatible cartridge. Test by replacing it.

How to fix error 929 toner service on an Optra T614 Lexmark Laser printer?

A 929 Service Toner Sensor error indicates a problem with the toner sensor, the front harness cable, or the developer drive. It could also mean that the toner cartridge is defective.
  • Take the cartridge out of the printer and locate the encoder wheel on the right-hand side of the cartridge. The encoder wheel can be found on the right side of the cartridge (usually over a bar code sticker). It is a thin, black, plastic wheel with small rectangular notches cut into it. This wheel will sometimes get stuck, but you can free it by turning it by hand.
  • Try moving the wheel forwards and backwards a little. If it does not turn correctly, you will receive a 929 Toner Sensor error on the printer when you try to use the cartridge it is attached to. Note: The encoder wheel moves only a little bit each way. It should not make a complete revolution. If it does, the wheel is probably broken.
  • Try to move it a little bit each way a couple of times to see if you can free it up. Caution! DO NOT force the wheel as you could break it.
  • If the wheel on the toner cartridge is stuck, try another new toner cartridge. ( If you do not have another new toner cartridge available, an old toner cartridge or another cartridge from a working printer of the same model will also suffice for this test.) Power the printer off and install the second toner cartridge. Then power the printer back on. If another toner cartridge clears up the 929 error, the printer is fine and the problem is with the toner cartridge. If the error does not clear, there may be a problem with the printer.
  • If you narrow down the problem to the toner cartridge, call the point of purchase and explain the situation to them. They may have a replacement policy. If they cannot help you, call our Technical Support Center and we will see what we can do to replace the cartridge that is causing the error. We will not be able to reimburse the price of the cartridge, but we can offer you an exchange. To do this, we may ask you to send in your cartridge first. Please note that we cannot offer an exchange on a refilled or refurbished cartridge. For this, you must go through the point of purchase.
If you need further assistance contact Lexmark Technical Support.

Brand new lexmark original cartridge is not recognised. error report' no cartridge'. all contacts cleaned machine dismantled and cleaned and reassembled. has done this before on occasion with refilled...

1. Open the top front cover of the printer. If the display DOES NOT read Close cover or Insert cartridge, the 32 error is not caused by the toner cartridge and printer service will be required to fix the problem.

2. Make sure the correct toner cartridge is installed for this printer model.
1. Check Lexmark for a list of compatible cartridges for your printer.
2. If the wrong toner cartridge is installed, remove it and install the correct one.

3. If the correct toner cartridge is installed, it may not be seated correctly. To ensure that this is not the cause of the error, do the following:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Reseat the toner cartridge.
3. Close the lid.
4. Power the printer back on and check the display.

4. If reseating the toner cartridge does not clear the error message and the error started as soon as you installed this particular toner cartridge, the cartridge may be broken. You can check this as follows:
1. Power off the printer and then reinstall the old cartridge. (You can also try a different new cartridge to see if that clears the error.)
2. If the error does disappear, the problem may lie with this cartridge. Please contact the point of purchase, especially if the cartridge is brand new out of the box.

5. If the error cannot be cleared by putting in a new toner cartridge or one that is known to be working, the printer may require service to fix the problem.

Hello thanks for using Fixya

A 929 Service Toner Sensor error indicates a problem with the toner sensor, the front harness cable, or the developer drive. It could also mean that the toner cartridge is defective.

The most likely cause of this error is the toner cartridge itself. This is especially true if it is a new cartridge and the error started after you installed it.
To solve it try this:

Take the cartridge out of the printer and locate the encoder wheel on the right-hand side of the cartridge. The encoder wheel can be found on the right side of the cartridge (usually over a bar code sticker). It is a thin, black, plastic wheel with small rectangular notches cut into it. This wheel will sometimes get stuck, but you can free it by turning it by hand.
Try moving the wheel forwards and backwards a little. If it does not turn correctly, you will receive a 929 Toner Sensor error on the printer when you try to use the cartridge it is attached to
Note: The encoder wheel moves only a little bit each way. It should not make a complete revolution. If it does, the wheel is probably broken.
Try to move it a little bit each way a couple of times to see if you can free it up. Caution! DO NOT force the wheel as you could break it.
If the wheel on the toner cartridge is stuck, try another new toner cartridge. ( If you do not have another new toner cartridge available, an old toner cartridge or another cartridge from a working printer of the same model will also suffice for this test.)
Power the printer off and install the second toner cartridge. Then power the printer back on. If another toner cartridge clears up the 929 error, the printer is fine and the problem is with the toner cartridge.
If the error does not clear, there may be a problem with the printer.
If you narrow down the problem to the toner cartridge, call the point of purchase and explain the situation to them. They may have a replacement policy.
If you receive this error with a second toner cartridge, you may want to check if the Front Harness Cable is plugged into the Toner Sensor then Do the following:

Turn off the printer and remove the toner cartridge.
Look inside the printer at the place where the cartridge goes (on the right). You should see the Toner Sensor. On the back of the sensor assembly, you should be able to see a white cable connector.
Push this white cable connector into the toner sensor assembly by pushing the connector towards the front of the printer.
If you continue to receive the 929 error the final option is your printer will probably need service.

C510 printer displays "994 Service Engine Error". How do you addr

Don

*************************************************

994 Service Engine Error on a Lexmark C510 ID: ENUS21233 If your printer is unable to move the photodeveloper belt to the correct position during printing, a 994 error will occur. However, it may simply be the case that the photodeveloper is either contaminated with excess toner or improperly installed. To test for and resolve this issue, please do the following:

  1. Power the printer off and remove the photodeveloper cartridge.
  2. Rotate the green metallic photodeveloper belt by manually turning the white drive gear on the bottom of the cartridge until the black positioning markers are visible.
  3. If necessary, carefully wipe any excess toner powder from the positioning markers using a soft, lint-free cloth or tissue.
  4. While the top cover of the printer is still open, inspect the sensor that is used to locate the positioning markers on the belt. CAUTION! The photodeveloper is very sensitive to light. Cover the green metallic surface of the photodeveloper with a piece of paper while it is outside the printer.
    • Refer to this image, this image, and this image to identify the location of the sensor.
    • Verify that the sensor has not come loose from its housing and that it is not contaminated with excess toner powder. If necessary, clean the sensor with a soft, lint-free cloth or tissue.
  5. Re-install the photodeveloper cartridge and power the printer back on.
  6. If the error remains, it is likely that a service call will be necessary to resolve this issue. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support, having first obtained the serial number of your printer. NOTE: If practicable, attempt to order another photodeveloper and replace it first to avoid the inconvenience of a potentially unnecessary service call.
