Is it the E18 error? Are pictures fines when you transfer them to the computer?

I have a nikon coolpix s60 and when i go to view the pictures, the screen turns black and i cant turn the camera off unless i pull the battery

What name brand memory card do you use? I recently discovered myself that Nikon only supports SanDisk, Toshiba, Panasonic and Lexar. Try taking out the memory card and take pictures without the memory card inside the camera. If you can view the picture saved onto the camera memory then you will know that all you need is a new memory card, with one of the above mentioned name brands. Hope this helps.

Can i copy my pictures stored on my nikon s60 to the memory card that is in the camera?

Yes. Enter playback mode by pressing playback (right-pointing arrow). Press MENU. Scroll down to "Copy."

Bear in mind that this is a copy. Pictures remain in internal memory until you explicitly delete them.

Nikon d40 motnior blank while taking picture.

That's entirely correct. Live view cannot work on SLR's whilst the photo is being taken due to the requirement for the mirror and live view sensor to flip out of the way during image capture.

Live view on SLR cameras is a misleading description, it's really a live preview instead.

SAME PROBLEM

If it is still under warranty, you might inform Nikon that if they refuse to fix an obvious defect, you are prepared to notify the Better Business Bureau, your State Attorney General, and some of the popular photography magazines plus anyone else you can think of.

Bad photo quality

The Konika Minolta 7D is a DSLR. With the DSLR you have a much bigger sensor, and can use much bigger lenses (with larger apertures - lower f-stop numbers) to gather light to the sensor. This allows the DSLR to take much better photos in low light. You will never get the same quality out of a small pocket camera like the Nikon S60. Hand-held non-flash photos in low light with this camera are going to have the flaws you have noticed - especially in the darker areas of the image. This is digital noise caused by amplifying the signal from the sensor as the camera processes the image with the high ISO setting.

You said you are sure that you are using the highest picture quality settings. The next thing is to change the ISO - this camera's "high ISO" does not produce images with good quality. The camera automatically uses a high ISO setting in low light, you need to tell it to not use high ISO by setting a lower ISO value. When shooting with a low ISO setting in low light, you need to use a tripod, and your subject can not be moving.

If you need to take hand-held photos, or your subject is moving, then you need to use flash with this camera, or else use your 7D.
