Access is denied is typically a security/sharing violation. If your on the administrative account on the machine – adjust the security of drive. From my computer right click on the drive go to properties. You will have to click on each of the user groups and modify the security settings you wish. Also on the advanced tab should be an option to take control of the drive.

It is true that locking mobile storage devices, such as USB drives, with Imation Lock is an excellent way to protect your data.

However, using Imation Lock with a Kingston USB drive can create problems.

Learn how to unlock your Kingston USB drive so you can use it once again.

Ensure that your Kingston USB drive has been removed from your computer's USB port.

Plug in the Kingston USB into a USB port immediately after the "Please Insert the Device or Run This Utility as Privileged User" message appears.

If you have password protected a USB drive or partition on your computer and have since forgotten the password, you will need to completely erase the drive.

Erasing and reformatting the drive will remove any password protection, software and data on the drive preventing you from accessing the drive.

The process is simple using Window's Disk Management utility.

Log into the computer as the administrator.

Open the Windows Start menu, select "Run," type "Compmgmt.msc" and click "OK." In Windows Vista and Windows 7, simply type the command into the "Search" field.

Select "Disk Management."

Locate the password-protected drive.

Right-click it and select "Delete." Confirm the action.

The drive will be erased and become unallocated free space.

Hope this helps.

I have data traveller 200 128Gb.windows says "do not regognice" or something. it won't work! i think i need drivers, but where i can get them????????

The Kingston Datatraveller 200 is a counterfeit. They are not actually made by kingston, and are a fake product being sold to scam people. I'm sorry, but you'll have to return it.

Kingston 2GB data Traveller is write protected how to format it?

If you didn't activated the Read-only option from its properties then the memory chip inside it is near death and the write protect is there to allow you to recover the files while you still can - activated automatically. Once you have done that just junk the stick, it's dead, time for a new one.

I cannot remove write protection from my Kingston Data traveller

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine.
# Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual.

also
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:

- click start right click on my computer select open
- Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something)
- Click Properties in the menu that comes up
- Click the Sharing tab
- Click permissions
- And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.
hope this helps don
