Question about Washing Machines
My Maytag A511 washer has worked faithfully for 26 years. It's never had anything done to it, not even a belt replacement. Now it is making a grating err-err...err-err...err-err noise during the wash and rinse cycles (whenever the agitator is active). What is likely to be the problem?
Either the engine or the drum bearing are worn out and the rotor/drum is touching the stator/tub. It's normal wear and since replacement parts are no longer fabricated i think it's time to buy a new one.
