Question about Dell Inspiron 1100 Notebook
I want to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 1100 processor from a celeron to a pentium 4.What pentium processor will work on my system and will the Bios also have to be upgraded to except the new processor?
To be honest, the Inspiron 1100 is probably not worth the effort and cost to upgrade
The fast is proc is a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 CPU, max ram 1GB of RAM,
You can find several dell portables below $500

I successfully upgraded my old inspiron 1100 from a celeron /128 mb to a P4 2.8 GHz (get 400 fsb) and 1GB ram (2x512mb). The upgrade was cheap since I got all the parts 2nd hand. Works great! Won't upgrade the battery pack though, quite expensive!
