I installed Roxio easy creator 6 everything downloaded fine, but when I try to burn a CD it tells me that there is no recorder available or maybe my drevers need to be updated. It's crazy cause I can burn a CD by using Itunes and also transfer music from a CD to my computer. It also won't let me backup files, it says the same thing. I checked my driver under the Devices and it says there is no problem there. I had uninstalled this program before trying to fix it, but it still doesn't work. Help

Thank you for your question.

I will presume you are referring to Microsoft Office 2007 as there is no Operating System by that name. Yes, you can download a "trial" version of Office 2007 from Microsoft directly and install it on as many computers as you need to.

The current installation will not be affected.

You cannont "transfer" one installation of Office from one computer to another due to Registration and Protection built into the installed programme. Each installation has to registered on its own with Microsoft and needs to pass their Activiation system.

Kind regards.

Windows xp home edition boot process will not recognise a dvd player but the dvd is readily useful after bootup this also applies to usb dvd players the PC is a Dell that has just been updated with SP2...

If you are using IDE drives (ribbon cable), then the most likely culprit is that the hard drive is set to something other than master and the DVDROM is set to something other than slave. Based on what you have described, I am pretty confident that it is a jumper setting issue on your hard drive/DVDROM.

this is a crucial system file that cannot be usb fixed, it needs a complete new install. if you have a usb cdrom/dvdrom then use it. but it definately has to be re-installed. windows xp is no longer supported by windows, and a new disk is going to be hard to find, call around to get prices for a new xp pro install disk from a local shop. some shops are equipped to repair this from thier shop, but thats bigger money to repair it than it would be to just buy it your self and install it from a rom drive.

I bought this laptop from a market stall i tried to play dvd's but nothing comes up at all

Can your DVDROM read the DVD when it is insert?
Open your Windows Explorer and see if the DVDROM can read the DVD data!
If you can't see the data on the DVD, probably your DVDROM or or DVD is the problem.
If you can see the data on the DVD, then you have not install the necessary "codec" to play the video from the DVD.

That's not a problem with Vista, rather it's most likely a problem with the web server. Make sure you entered all your web server information in correctly (pop3, SMPT, etc), and make sure your mail server supports MS Outlook 2007. Just double check everything. If that doesn't work, try completely un-installing and re-installing Outlook 2007. If all fails, try downloading a 3rd party mail application and see if that works.
