Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If it is a Projection TV then this might have happened due to over-voltage. Please check the power supply unit for swollen/bulged capacitors and burnt wires/components on the power supply board of your TV. You should try and turn off the TV for 8-10 hours to reset it. Please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in OFF condition. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

3 YEAR OLD SANYO DP 32746. SHUT ITSELF OFF, CAN NOT TURN BACK ON

If you leave the tv unplugged for 2 days (atleast) then plug it back in and try to turn it on and if it comes on its the power supply board. If it comes back on it will probably shut off between 30min to 4hrs and you would have to unplug it for 2 days again. All the power needs to drain out of the tv. If thats the case take the back pannel off and check the part number out on the internet. Not hard to do becarefull touching things the power supply does store a little bit or shock in it. Good Luck.

Power will not stay on

With a problem like this, I would use the warranty for the TV.
It's possible a circuit board failure has occurred and the TV is automatically turning itself off to protect it from further damage. Is normally called " Protection Mode " for most TVs.

Being that it's 2 months old, it should be under warranty regardless. I would recommend contacting the store of where it was purchased and have them help you with the warranty issue.
