Question about HP LaserJet 2840 Printer
After using this printer for two years with high speed USB turned on, I began getting the same error message. It is not a memory issue.
The solution was to get into the machine menu and turn off high speed USB. I can only assume that HP broke something with a firmware update.
How to turn off High Speed USB.
Push the Menu button on the printer. Scroll over to the "Service" menu. Push "Enter". Scroll to High Speed USB, push "enter". Turn High Speed USB "OFF". It fixes it but makes everything sloooow.
HP no longer manufactures or supports this machine and I have been unable to get Windows 7 software other than the generic universal driver.
This will be my last HP. It has been a good machine but HP software sucks!

Either your added memory card is bad or you may need a new formatter board.
