Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Is there a simple, reliable way to synchronize Outlook 2007 between two computers. No Microsoft Exchange involved. Running Vista SP2 on both computers. I know there's no "built-in" way to do this, but I believe there are third-party apps out there. Any recommedation for a reliable one? Thanks. Ken

If there's no MS Exchange involved but you would like to sync your two Outlook 2007; yes, you really need a third party program that will help you to do that. We called it the Outlook Sync Software.

The third party program will allow you to sync your Contacts, Task, Calendars and Notes one way or two way. Please check the link below and see more info:

Configure ms outlook 2007 to access my office mail it shows my inbox mail but dont shows my outbox mail or sent item & also contact list .Before outlook configure i access my outlook through web mail ....

ahhhh ok you want to access your Sent mail folder and contacts which you used when you used Outlook Web Access(OWA) "outlook through web mail" to connect to your Office Exchange mail server

in order to get this you have to configure Outlook 2007 to connect to exchange server. Do the following steps
  1. if you are running outlook close it as you can not configure exchange accounts when it is running
  2. if you are running vista, xp or 7 click on the start menu and right click on email and go to properties
  3. click on email accounts
  4. select "view or change existing accounts" click next
  5. click on any of the previously configured accounts and remove them
  6. click add
  7. select microsoft exchange server click next
  8. type name of the exchange server (you must get this from your administrator) and type in your username (name which you used to use through web mail) click on next
  9. click on finish
  10. open outlook 2007 and you should see all your previous contacts and sent items
hope this helps

My Outlook is too slow

There are a few simple steps you can take to keep your Outlook running smoothly. If your Outlook is slow and unstable, it can put a serious drain on your productivity and even elevate the stress level. So take a few moments to get it shape.
1. Keep your PSTs at a reasonable size
With Outlook 2003 and 2007 you can create “new style” PST files which do not have the old 2GB limit. However, for best performance, we still recommend keeping your PST files relatively small and not letting them grow too much above 1GB.

2. Disable Add-ins you are not using
3. Compact your PST files

4. Enable Cached Exchange Mode
If you are using an Exchange-based mail account, enabling Cached Exchange Mode will likely improve Outlook responsiveness.

6. Keep an eye on your Desktop Search Indexers
Using products such as Windows Desktop Search and Google Desktop Search is a great way to be able to quickly find email messages

7. Keep your computer up to date with patches and Service Packs

8. Reset Outlook cache files

9. Disable RSS feeds in Outlook
•Open “Tools->Options->Other->Advanced Options”
•Uncheck “Sync RSS Feeds to the Common Feed List

Hope this Helped

I have Microsoft Outlook Web Access, running with VISTA and IE 7. I can't type in the body of emails. There is an 'x' in the body space. Can someone help me change settings so as to write in the body?

Try this Solution on your desktop PC:
1. In Outlook Web Access [OWA] , click on the "options" in the left Task Pane.

2. Under “E-mail Security” and Click Install or Upgrade the S/MIME Control. This will download a new add-on.

3. Click “RUN” when asked about the Microsoft Outlook Web Access S/MIME install and security warning.

4. Close and RESTART IE7

If the above trick still doesn't work then it more sounds like the Exchange server needs a patch

[path to the patch]
If you by chance happen to maintain the exchange server then install the above patch and restart exchange service

or check this site for reference:

Good luck :)

Microsoft outlook 2007 can't open

do set up some email account or just say you want to work offline. It expects some login details. May be you can just create one profile for you.
If you are not able to open try from control panel>mail .. do some R and D and you will get there.

Microsoft outlook on my verizon HTC SMT5800

Unless you are trying to sync with another Microsoft Exchange Server (say at your new Job) or you are running an Exchnage server at home on a dedicated server.. you will not be able to set your phone up with exchange.

One Suggestion I may have would be to setup outlook on your phone to connect to your email via Imap4 or POP3.

You might want to remove the activesync partnership to your old company if you havent done so allready to help get rid of the exchnage sync error's.

Hope this helps.
