Depends on your operating system but go into tools, then internet options and you should be able to find a tab there to help put your preferred email provider to make it default

Inbox has taken over my email cant get them off can you help

Step 1:
Change a Default Email Program in XP b> The Windows XP operating system can be used to send email through various programs. Microsoft Outlook serves as the default email program in Windows XP. To change this default email program, you must have a secondary email client installed on your system. By using the system's "Control Panel" interface, you can select a different default email handler. Any email links you click on while surfing the Internet will be opened with your default email client.

Click on the "Start" button on the Windows XP task bar. Select the "Control Panel" button on the right-hand side of the menu. Open the "Add or Remove Programs" window by double-clicking on the icon. Click on the "Set Program Access and Defaults" button on the left-hand side of the window. This button should be located closest to the bottom of the window. Click on the button located to the left of the "Custom" selection to highlight this selection. Click on the icon to the right with two arrows pointing downwards to view the options for the "Custom" configuration. Click on the button next to the program you wish to set as your default email client in the "Choose a default email program" section. Click the "OK" button to save the changes to XP's default email program.

Default mail client

It sounds like you are trying to click on a hyperlink to email someone, like at a website. These hyperlinks are programmed to open an email client like Outlook, or Outlook Express and open a new mail message with the email address line populated.

If you are using a WEB based email like Yahoo, Hotmail and the like, then the hyperlink will not work, and you get the error you describe. Generally it isn't worth the time and effort to setup an email client if that is the only reason you are doing it.

SO, generally, I just open my email, then type the email address of the hyperlink (Support@dell.com for example)

Default yahoo email

If you use Yahoo! Mail for all your email needs, some of the amenities of Windows seem to elude you. A click on an email link in your browser brings up Outlook Express or another desktop email program, not a new message in Yahoo! Mail. Trying to send a file directly from Word, OpenOffice.org or another office application yields the same, unsatisfactory result.

Fortunately, the state of dissatisfaction need not be permanent. It will be overcome by making Yahoo! Mail act as your default email program in Windows, which, if you use Windows 95 or later is an easy thing to do.
Make Yahoo! Mail Your Default Windows Email Program

To set up Yahoo! Mail as your default email client in Windows:

* Download and install Yahoo! Messenger.
* Select Tools | Internet Options... from the menu in Internet Explorer.
* Go to the Programs tab.
* Make sure Yahoo! Mail is selected under E-mail.
* Click OK.

Yahoo! as Default Email: Does Not Work under Windows Vista

Unfortunately, Yahoo! Mail as your default email program may be hard-wired to use Internet Explorer instead of your default browser, and it does not work in Windows Vista.
Make Yahoo! Mail the Default Email Composer in Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, you can turn to the Mailto 2 Webmail script for Greasemonkey to have Yahoo! Mail handle email links (even under Windows Vista).

Replying to a link given in Craigslist

The tiny program that allows you to select Yahoo! Mail as the default email application for your PC is included as part of Yahoo! Toolbar version 7.2 and up for Internet Explorer (not Firefox).
If you don't have Yahoo! Toolbar v.7.2 or later for Internet Explorer installed, you’ll need to download it before proceeding with these instructions.
We’re sorry there’s not an official version for the Mac—yet.
Here’s how to set your PC to open Yahoo! Mail when you click an email link on a web page.
  1. From the “Start” pop-up menu in the lower left corner of your desktop, select “Settings” > “Control Panel”.
  2. In the Control Panel, select “Internet Options”. This opens the “Internet Properties” window.
  3. Click the “Programs” tab along the top.
  4. Click the “E-mail” pull-down menu, and select Yahoo! Mail.
  5. Click OK. Done!
Note: Yahoo! Toolbar v.7.2 and above for Internet Explorer (not Firefox) is the download that adds Yahoo! Mail to your PC's list of email programs to choose from. But after you've chosen Yahoo! Mail as your PC's default email application, Yahoo! Mail will open when you click an email link in any browser.

MFC-7820N Printer Problem

If you haven't done so already, download the drivers for the printer from http://www.brother-usa.com/Downloads/Default.aspx and install them. Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the computer (typically via a USB cable for most newer printers).
Brother also offers email support at: http://www.brother-usa.com/AskUs/default.aspx

Good luck!
