Trying to watch blue-ray using samsung 540 tv, but not getting any sound. We're able to watch the blue-ray on the laptop, but when we try to connect it to the tv, the sound does not work. The trails have sound, but when the actual movie starts, there is no sound.

Are you using an HDMI cable to connect the Laptop to the samsung 540 tvIf you are not then try using an HDMI cable, you will get the sound and a better picture

Sounds like a connection problem. If possible use a different HDMI-cable and make sure the ends are firmly in place. Try another HDMI connection on the TV if there is one.

Is there is any optical digital output in your satelite HD. Then connect that optical digital output of satelite HD to the optical digital input of your surround system (blue ray player) using an optical cable.
Then press the function button on the remote of surround sound system (blue ray player) and select D.IN. (D.IN means DIGITAL IN). You will get the audio through the surround sound system. if you need any more assistance fell free to contact me throughfixya.

hi, do the following. 1. connect ur blue rays hdmi out to ur tvs hdmi input. 2. connct blue rays out to any one of the coaxial(aux) input of bose. 3. connect ur tvs optical audio output to optical audio input of bose 4. connect monitor out of ur bose to any one of ur av in of ur tv. connect component video to better quality . 4 . in the blue rays audio setup select audio output priority as optical/coaxial 5 . in bose set aux as digital input. to see blue ray select hdmi of ur tv, sellect in bose in which the blue rays coaxial is connected(aux) insert disk in blue ray an watch to see dvd in bose select tvs corresponding input, select bose to dvd . insert dvd and watch to whach tv program set tv to corresponding mode. set bose to optical audio input mode. ok
It seems as though the HT works fine, so to get the TV itself to play through the HT setup, take the audio out from the TV and hook it up to a separate channel on the HT receiver. Turn on TV and receiver and put the receiver on the respective channel of the receiver. I hope this helps.
After trying several ways, we decided the best picture was to run the blue ray (out) directly to the TV (in) with an HDMI and another HDMI from the sat. box(out) to TV(in), then optical audio from TV (out) to receiver (in). This way you don't have to change channels on the reciever when switching from TV to DVD. Remember that HDMI is one cable that supports audio and video. If you are using all Samsung products and want to use one remote, using the Anynet feature, I think it has to be connected with an HDMI. I'm going to try connecting an HDMI too from the reciever to the TV to see if this feature will work. It does with the Blue Ray.
